Result AC Milan vs Lecce, Sunday, 20 September 2026, Serie A Week 5
Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
AC Milan, 6th position with 8 points and a positive goal difference of +3
Lecce,  12th position with 6 points and a negative goal difference of -2

✅    What a fantastic win for AC Milan as they defeated Lecce on Sunday, September 20, 2026 in Serie A Week 5 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. This impressive victory is a wonderful boost for the team's confidence and morale. Plus, Milan celebrated the 100th anniversary of San Siro Stadium in spectacular fashion with this home triumph.

For every action, there's a reaction, and Milan's response was absolutely convincing. They dominated Lecce with a commanding 3-0 victory, and honestly, the Rossoneri could have easily scored several more goals. The goals came from Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, and Diego Moreira.

With this success, Milan climbs to 5th place with 11 points, sitting just 1 point behind the Champions League spots. They're also 2 points back from the top three teams—Roma, Inter, and Lazio—who each have 13 points. All things considered, the situation isn't looking too bleak. Lecce sits in 12th place with 6 points, maintaining a comfortable 4-point cushion above the relegation zone.

This was an incredibly important victory for Amorim's squad, who had hit a rough patch recently with two league draws and a disappointing Europa League loss. Pulisic found his form again, the team played cohesively together. Overall, it was a really positive evening for Amorim.

Milan will play at Sassuolo on Sunday, October 11 at 18:00. Lecce will host Bologna on the same day at 15:00.

🔴⚫️ AC Milan 1 – 0 Lecce 🟡🔴

Christian Pulisic, the American star and Milan's captain, found the back of the net in the 14th minute! He unleashed a brilliant left-footed strike from inside the penalty area, sending the ball into the bottom left corner. The assist came from Strahinja Pavlovic, who threaded a perfectly weighted through ball into Pulisic's path. The former Chelsea player made a fantastic first touch on Pavlovic's pass and then beat goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone to the punch, securing the opening goal for the Rossoneri.

Go Christian Pulisic! Celebrate that incredible goal with everything you've got. We're right here supporting you, "Captain America!"

🔴⚫️ AC Milan 2 – 0 Lecce 🟡🔴

In the 61st minute, Adrien Rabiot scores for Milan with a fantastic left-footed strike from inside the box, finding the bottom right corner. Rabiot exchanges passes with Pulisic, who then finds Gonçalo Ramos in a great position. Ramos decides to pass it back to the French midfielder, and with goalkeeper Falcone right there, Rabiot makes no mistake finishing it off. The Rossoneri are absolutely dominating at San Siro, and the crowd is having an amazing time!

🔴⚫️ AC Milan 3 – 0 Lecce 🟡🔴

In the 74th minute, Diego Moreira scored for AC Milan with a right-footed strike from inside the box, finding the bottom left corner. Moreira beat Falcone from close range. What a way for San Siro to celebrate its 100th anniversary!

Stats BEFORE the game AC Milan vs Lecce

Milan has won their last five Serie A matches against Lecce and kept four clean sheets during that stretch - they could extend this to six consecutive victories against the Pugliese side for the first time ever in the competition.

Milan comes into this match following two straight draws (against Juventus and Lazio) and hasn't had three consecutive draws since September 2018 under Gennaro Gattuso; the Rossoneri claimed victory in their most recent home game (versus Venezia) and throughout this calendar year have only managed to win two consecutive home matches in Serie A once, back in March, when they beat Inter and Torino.

Among all teams in this league, Lecce is the opponent against whom Milan holds the longest current unbeaten streak in Serie A: 16 matches, comprising 11 wins and five draws; their last defeat dates back to April 1st, 2006, at the Via del Mare, when Axel Konan scored the winning goal (1-0).

Since the start of the 2000s, Milan has never lost at home to Lecce in Serie A, thanks to 12 victories and two draws, during which the Rossoneri have scored an impressive 30 more goals than their Salento opponents (38-8); notably, the Rossoneri are on a run of four consecutive home wins against the Salentini with an aggregate score of 9-0.

Lecce has won four of their last six Serie A matches (2 draws), scoring a total of nine goals, which is the same number of goals they scored across double the number of previous league matches (12) they played.
