It’s a tough defeat and now will be up to the Second Leg to overturn the result and earn the qualification to the Quarterfinals. Cheer up Napoli, you can do it.
This is the first European meeting for Granada with Napoli and with an Italian rival.
This is the seventh knockout match in UEFA’s major European competition for Napoli against Spanish opponents; they made it through only one of their previous six: 6-1 aggregate victory over Valencia in the 1992/93 UEFA Cup first round. Napoli have made it through only on one of seven occasions in which they have faced a Spanish side in UEFA competition in a knockout match: Valencia in the first round of the 1992/93 UEFA Cup. Napoli have remained unbeaten in the last three away matches in European competitions (2W, 1N), the Neapolitans have not reached four since April 2015.
Mamma Mia!!!!! Helllooooo not a good start for Napoli conceding a goal in the 19th minute.
🏆👉 Granada 1 – 0 Napoli, 19th minute, goal by ⚽️ Yangel Herrera with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Kenedy.
No, this is not possible, two minutes after the first goal and Granada scoring for the 2-0 in the 21st minute. Napoli must wake up and do something!!!!
132 – Napoli have conceded two goals within 132 seconds tonight: this is the first time in Europa League for them since April 2015, against Wolfsburg: Klose and Perisic scored two goals within 111 secs. Disorientation.#GranadaNapoli#UEL
