Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Juventus, 2nd position with 30 points and a positive goal difference of +12
Monza, 9th position with 18 points and a positive goal difference of +2

Juventus took back the leadership after winning the Serie A Week 14 game against Monza on Friday 1 December 2023 at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy.  Juventus with 33 points will lead at least for a day until tomorrow when Inter with 32 points faces Napoli. A game with a crazy ending! Juve ended the first half ahead thanks to Adrien Rabiot’s goal despite the penalty saved by Di Gregorio who hypnotized Vlahovic. Few emotions in the second half, but the ending is fiery. First Carboni’s equalizer with a cross-shot that mocks goalkeeper Szczesny and brings the match back to a draw, then the immediate response from Juve who take home the three points thanks to Gatti’s close-range shot.

The game started with a thriller. Referee Fabbri gave a penalty to Juventus. Here we expected Dusan Vlahovic to convert a penalty. Yet, miraculous saves by Monza goalkeeper Di Gregorio making two saves.

In the 12th minute, Juventus not giving up and following a corner conceded by Di Gregorio took the lead. It is Adrien Rabiot to score with a headed shot to the high center. The assist is by Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.

Monza shortened the distance in the 91st minute. Valentín Carboni equalized with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Pedro Pereira.

Juventus fighting until the end scored the winner goal in the 94th minute. The hero is Federico Gatti scoring with a right-footed shot to the high center.

✅    Stats before the game:  Eight useful results in a row for Juventus, fresh from the home draw with Inter who completed a string of five consecutive victories. The Bianconeri start again from Monza to keep pace with their Nerazzurri rivals and move to the momentary solitary top of the table, awaiting the big match on Sunday evening which will see Inzaghi’s team face Napoli at the Maradona. The Brianza team led by Palladino are confirming the good things seen last season and are temporarily in the left side of the table. However, the victory at the U-Power Stadium has been missing since the 3-0 defeat against Salernitana last 8 October, while the last success in the championship remains Bentegodi’s 3-1 against Verona

👉 Lineup Monza (3-4-2-1): Di Gregorio; Caldirola, Marì, D’Ambrosio; Birindelli, Gagliardini, Pessina, Kyriakopoulos; Machin, Ciurria; Colpani.

👉 Lineup Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Alex Sandro; Cambiaso, McKennie, Nicolussi Caviglia, Rabiot, Kostic; Chiesa, Vlahovic.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Hellas Verona, 19th position with 8 points and a negative goal difference of -9
Lecce, 14th position with 14 points and a negative goal difference of -3

Hellas Verona crying out loud for salvation. Verona and Lecced ended the Serie A Week 13 on Monday 27 November 2023 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Itay. Hellas is going through a dark period, with six defeats in a row between the championship and the Italian Cup. So far the Veronese team has won only once, on 26 August against Roma.

Lecce also hasn’t found a victory in a long series of matches, more precisely since 22 September with the 1-0 inflicted on Genoa. Since then 4 defeats and 3 draws. Last day, however, D’Aversa’s team overcame Pioli’s Milan from a two-goal deficit, even risking winning the match in the final.

Verona which therefore rises to 9 points, remaining behind Empoli and Cagliari, but separating Salernitana, now alone in last place. Lecce leads Sassuolo on 15 points and keeps its distance from the relegation zone.

The game played at a good pace, with both teams giving their all to bring home at least one point, which is important from a safety perspective. The opening goal came in the 30th minute when Oudin converted from long range with a very powerful right-footed shot. The equalizer comes after an error by Dorgu who mistakenly serves Djuric, who provides an assist for Ngonge who passes Falcone. In the second half Lecce took the lead again with Gonzalez who, in the 69th minute, struck from outside the area and thanks to a deflection put it into the net. In the 77th minute Verona equalized again with Djuric who headed, his specialty, following an assist from Terracciano.

Leece opened the score in the 30th minute. Remi Oudin defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper
Lorenzo Montipò with a right-footed shot to the top right corner.

Hellas Verona equalized in the 42nd minute. Cyril Ngonge defeated Lecce goalkeeper with
Wladimiro Falcone a right-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Milan Djuric.

Lecce took the lead again in the 69th minute. Joan González scored with a right-footed to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Alexis Blin.

Hellas Verona equalized again in the 78th minute. Milan Djuric scored with a headed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Filippo Terracciano.

✅   Stats before the game: erona have won their last four Serie A matches against Lecce without conceding a goal; only two teams boast a longer open streak of consecutive victories with clean sheets against a single opponent in Serie A: Napoli (five vs Sampdoria) and Juventus (nine vs Piacenza). Lecce have never won in eight away matches against Verona in Serie A: three draws and five defeats, including all the last three; the yellow-blue team is in fact the team faced several times by the Salento players away from home in the top tournament without ever winning. Verona has remained unbeaten in the last seven matches against Lecce in Serie A (5W, 2D): against any team the Scaligeri boast a longer open streak of consecutive games without defeat in the top division (seven also against Cagliari). Lecce has 14 points in the standings (3W, 5D, 4P) – only twice have the Salento players collected at least 17 after the first 13 Serie A matches of the season in the three-points-for-a-win era (since 1994/95): in 1999/2000 and 2004/05. Verona have not won in 10 championship matches (2N 8P, the Venetians’ most recent success dates back to the second day, against Roma), only Salernitana currently has a longer open streak of consecutive matches without a win (13) among the teams currently in Serie A. Furthermore, the Gialloblù are coming off five defeats in a row in the competition, only Union Berlin has a longer open streak of consecutive knockouts (nine) in the five major European championships 2023/24.

👉 Lineup HELLAS VERONA: Montipò, Terracciano, Hien, Amione, Tchatchoua, Duda, Suslov, Folorunsho, Mboula, Ngonge, Djuric

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 31 points and a positive goal difference of +23
Juventus, 2nd position with 29 points and a positive goal difference of +12

The Derby d’Italia is without a winner. Juventus and Inter ended the Serie A Week 13 game with a draw on Sunday 26 November 2023 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy. This is the 181st Derby d’Italia, one of the most heartfelt matches in Italian football. The respective positions in the standings between Juventus and Inter therefore remain unchanged. Inter are in the first position with 32 points and Juventus with 30 points. Juventus have a four-point lead over Milan with 36 points in the 3rd position.

The goals that decided the match are both scored in the first half, within a few minutes of each other. In the 27th minute, Dušan Vlahović starts the action and closes it with an assist from Chiesa, placing a first-time right-footed shot from inside the area. Six minutes later Inter responded promptly with Thuram going away on the right and serving Lautaro in the center who, with an excellent movement, anticipated Gatti and displaced Szczesny towards the left post.

Inter arrived in Turin as leaders thanks to 10 victories in 12 days, with 29 goals scored and only 6 conceded. The offensive pair formed by Lautaro Martinez (12 goals, 1 assist) and Thuram (4 goals 4 assists) has been unleashed so far, with the latter proving to be a fundamental acquisition for Inzaghi’s plans.

Juventus took the lead in the27th minute. Forward Dušan Vlahović defeated Inter goalkeeper Sommer with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Federico Chiesa.

Inter equalized in the 33rd minute. Forward Lautaro Martínez defeated Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Marcus Thuram.

Stats before the game: Juventus is the team that has won the most matches against Inter in the history of Serie A (87 out of 180), at least 33 successes more than any other. Juventus have won five of their last eight Serie A matches against Inter (1N, 2L), including the two most recent without conceding a goal; the last time the Bianconeri recorded at least three consecutive successes while keeping a clean sheet against the Nerazzurri in the league was in 1977, with Giovanni Trapattoni as coach. Inter have not found success in 15 of their last 17 away games against Juventus in the league (4D, 11L) and in nine of these they have not found a way to score. This is the first time in the history of Serie A in which Inter and Juventus face each other with at least 29 points each before the 14th matchday of the championship; at most these two teams had clashed at this point of the season with 24 or more points each (27 for the Nerazzurri and 24 for the Bianconeri in 2008/09 on the 13th matchday, while they had 24 and 28 respectively on the 11th of 2012/ 13 – on both occasions the Milanese team won). Juventus have won four of the last six matches against the leaders at the start of the Serie A day (2P), each of these successes came against an opponent from Milan: only in one of these cases did the victory allow the Bianconeri to overtake and first place in the standings, on 6 October 2019 against Inter, with Maurizio Sarri on the bench.

👉  Juventus (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Rugani; Cambiaso, McKennie, Nicolussi Caviglia, Rabiot, Kostic; Chiesa, Vlahovic.

👉  Lineup Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro

The 181st Derby d’Italia is without a winner. Juventus and Inter ended with a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium.  The respective positions in the standings between Juventus and Inter therefore remain unchanged. Inter are in the first position with 32 points and Juventus with 30 points. Juventus have a four-point lead over Milan with 36 points in the 3rd position. The goals that decided the match were scored by Dušan Vlahović for Juventus and Lautaro Martínez for Inter.

Milan defeated Fiorentina reaching 26 points and returning to third place alone, maintaining its distance from Napoli with 24 points. Fiorentina remained on 20 points in the standings, tied with Atalanta. The historic match saw the debut of Francesco Camarda, 15 years old, the first player in 2008 to take the field in the major European leagues and the youngest ever in Serie A.

There is the winning debut for Coach Walter Mazzarri with Napoli 2-1 beating Atalanta. The score broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, Kvaratskhelia headed in from Di Lorenzo’s cross. In the second half, again with a header, Lookman equalized in the 53rd minute. Decisive goal by Elmas in the 79th minute, assisted by Osimhen. Serious injury for Olivera, Zappacosta was also knocked out. In the next round, Atalanta will play the away game in Turin, Napoli will face Inter at home.

Great result for Salernitana, who overturned Lazio 2-1 and thus achieved their first victory this season, climbing to eight points in the standings.  Salernitana hadn’t won in Serie A since May 27, 2022 (3-2 over Udinese). MVP of the race a sensational Candreva, simply eternal. Fifth knockout in the last seven away games, however, for a Lazio stuck in 10th place with 17 points. In the next round, Salernitana will challenge Fiorentina away on Sunday 3 December 2023. Lazio will host Cagliari on Saturday 2 December.
