Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Frosinone, 18th position with 25 points and a negative goal difference of -23
Bologna, 4th position with 57 points and a positive goal difference of +20

Frosinone failed to win the Serie A Week 31 game against Bologna ending with a draw on Sunday 7 April 2024 at the Benito Stirpe Stadium in Frosinone, Italy. The result does not help Frosinone because they remain in the relegation zone but approaches Cagliari and Hellas Verona. Bologna failed to overtake Juventus. Thiago Motta’s team suffered from the pressure of the Ciociari, coming out in the final but without finding the decisive goal. Frosinone snatched the point from an imprecise Bologna.

Stats before the game: Since the beginning of February 2024, no team has gained fewer points than Frosinone in Serie A (two in eight matches, equal to Salernitana), in the same period only Inter (25) has obtained more points than Bologna (24: 8W, 1P in nine matches) in the top championship. After the 1-1 draw against Genoa, Frosinone could draw two games in a row in Serie A for the first time since last September, against Salernitana and Fiorentina in that case. Bologna have won their last two league matches without conceding a goal, the rossoblù have not achieved three successes in a row without conceding a goal in Serie A since February 1973, with Bruno Pesaola as coach. Bologna has gained 57 points in 30 matches of this championship, the last time the Emilians obtained more points in an entire Serie A season, always considering three points for a victory, dates back to 1966/67 (63 in that case, with 3rd place at the end of the tournament).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sassuolo, 19th position with 24 points and a negative goal difference of -23
Salernitana, 20th position with 14 points and a negative goal difference of -39

Salernitana have not found a strategy to leave the relegation zone. Salernitana are still in the last position. Salernitana and Sassuolo ended the Serie A Week 31 game with a draw on Friday 5 April 2024 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy. Sassuolo draw at least two consecutive matches in Serie A for the first time since the period between August and September 2022 (three in that case). Salernitana’s reaction in the second half, the Neroverdi threw away the double lead of the first half (goals from Lauriente and Bajrami), wasting opportunities to close the match; Candreva on a penalty (punished for a tackle by Ferrari on Tchaouna) shortens, Maggiore in full recovery completes the comeback: a point that is of little use to both teams, the negative streak of both continues at the bottom of the table.

Sassuolo took the lead in the 36th minute. Armand Laurienté defeated Salernitana goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Nedim Bajrami.

Sassuolo having a ride scoring another goal in the 45th minute.

Salernitana shortened the distance in the 52nd minute. Antonio Candreva defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli by converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty is conceded by Josh Doig after a foul on Niccolò Pierozzi.

✅   Stats before the game: Sassuolo remained unbeaten in four of their five matches against Salernitana in Serie A (W2, D2). Furthermore, after the 2-2 draw in the first leg last November 10th, the two teams could draw both matches of the season for the first time in the top division. Salernitana is unbeaten in home matches against Sassuolo in Serie A: a 2-2 draw on 12 March 2022 and a 3-0 win on 22 April 2023. Salernitana have lost their last three league matches and this Serie A season they have already suffered four defeats in a row, in the month of January. In fact, considering only 2024, Salernitana is the team that has earned the fewest points in the top five European championships: two in 12 games. Salernitana have lost their last six games at Arechi in the league and in their history in Serie A they have never suffered seven consecutive defeats in home games. Sassuolo have lost their last seven away games in the championship, already having a record negative streak away from home in Serie A. Furthermore, in these seven away games they have failed to find the goal six times, including the three most recent – the neroverdi they have never recorded four away matches in a row without scoring in the top flight.

Juventus failed to climb to the 2nd position after losing the away game against Lazio.  It was a tough defeat because the match’s only goal arrived in the 93rd minute and was enough to claim all full 3 points.

Another blow was for Napoli with a major defeat at home beaten by Atalanta with 3 goals.  Incredibly so, Napoli could not even score an honor goal.

AC Milan defeated Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi claiming all 3 points. The Rossoneri kept the 2nd position while Fiorentina having +6 points above Juventus in the 3rd position after losing the game against Lazio.

Juventus,  3rd position with 59 points and a positive goal difference of +21

Juventus failed on their quest to recover the 2nd position. Lazio with a sprint race won the Serie A Week 30 game on Saturday 30 March 2024 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. At the Olympic Stadium in Rome, Igor Tudor’s Lazio, making his debut, and Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus are struggling to the next editions of the Champions League and Europa League. Lazio got this victory in the 93rd minute thanks to the goal by Adam Marusic.

Stats before the game: In the last 20 Serie A seasons (since 2004/05), only Milan against Cagliari (28) and Juventus against Udinese (27) have recorded more victories against a single opponent than Juventus have achieved against Lazio (26) – in the period the Biancocelesti achieved only three successes against the Bianconeri in 37 championship matches (8N). After the 3-1 success in the first leg last September 16, Juventus could win both seasonal matches against Lazio in Serie A for the first time since 2018/19. Lazio won the last match at the Olimpico 2-1 against Juventus in the championship, the Biancocelesti have not achieved two home successes in a row against the Bianconeri in Serie A since 2001.  Lazio have lost their last three league games at the Olimpico, and in their Serie A history they have only once recorded more home defeats in a row: five between February and April 1961, under the guidance of Jesse Carver.
