Inter, 3rd position with 28 points and a positive goal difference of +17
Parma, 11th position with 15 points and a negative goal difference of -2

👉 Inter continues to chase the Scudetto after a solid victory over Parma in the Serie A Week 15 match held at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy. The final score was 3-1, with goals from Federico Dimarco, Nicolo’ Barella, and Marcus Thuram. Although Pecchia’s team left San Siro with pride, the Crociati fought hard, managing to score in the closing minutes and holding their ground for 40 minutes. However, once Dimarco netted his stunning goal, Inter took control and showcased their scoring prowess. With this win, Inzaghi’s squad climbs higher in the league standings.

Surely, this is a very special victory. It’s been a long time since Inter last triumphed at home against Parma in Serie A.  Inter last victory dates back to April 21, 2013. Since then, they’ve experienced four draws and one loss, marking the longest ongoing streak of home games without a win against a single opponent in the league for the Lombardy team.

In their next Serie A match, Inter will take on Lazio, while Parma is set to face Verona.

Inter took the lead in the 40th minute when Federico Dimarco found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the center. Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided the assist. The play featured a clever one-two between Mkhitaryan and Dimarco, who executed a beautiful backheel control before switching to his right foot and curling the ball past the helpless Suzuki.

Inter extended their lead in the 53rd minute when Nicolò Barella found the back of the net with a precise right-footed shot. The goal was set up by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who delivered a brilliant through ball. (The goal was validated after a VAR review). Mkhitaryan’s exceptional pass allowed Barella to make a well-timed run, showcasing his excellent control and dribbling skills that left Delprato behind. With Suzuki in front of him, the Inter midfielder finished flawlessly.

It’s complete chaos for Parma! In the 66th minute, Inter scored their third goal! Marcus Thuram netted it with a close-range right-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. Yann Bisseck provided the headed assist after a corner that Enrico Delprato conceded.

In the 81st minute, an own goal by Matteo Darmian occurs. Parma showcases a great attack, putting Man in a one-on-one with Sommer. Darmian reaches the ball first but accidentally sends it into his own net.

Stats before the game

Inter secured a victory in their most recent Serie A match against Parma on March 4, 2021, with Antonio Conte leading from the sidelines. Since the stretch from November 2006 to September 2009, when they managed five consecutive wins, Inter has struggled to claim at least two back-to-back victories against the Emilians in the league.

Inter has managed to keep a clean sheet in four out of their last six league matches, a notable improvement compared to their previous four Serie A games where they failed to do so. Since the weekend of October 19-20, only Napoli, with five clean sheets, has surpassed Inter’s four in this regard.

Additionally, Inter has scored in their last 29 home league matches and is on the verge of achieving a remarkable 30 consecutive home games with goals, a feat they last accomplished between July 2020 and February 2022, when they scored in 32 straight matches.

Buy Serie A tickets

Parma, on the other hand, has seen some success recently, winning two of their last three league games (with one loss), after struggling to secure just one victory in their previous 11 Serie A matches this season (with six draws and four losses). The Gialloblu have not managed to win two consecutive Serie A games since July 2020, when they triumphed over Napoli and Brescia under coach Roberto D’Aversa.

In their last away match, Parma secured a 2-1 victory against Venezia, breaking a long streak of 19 away games without a win in Serie A (with nine draws and ten losses). They haven’t achieved back-to-back away wins in the league since July-August 2020, when they won against Brescia and Lecce.

Interestingly, while Parma has conceded the fewest goals in the first 30 minutes of play this season (only two), Inter has let in 43% of their goals in the final 15 minutes of matches (six out of 14), which is the highest percentage in the league, tied with Empoli.

Player Stats

Marcus Thuram can become the third player in the history of Serie A to reach double figures for goals in a single season by scoring only multiple goals, after Norberto Höfling in 1949/50 and Harald Nielsen in 1962/63.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has scored three goals against Parma in Serie A, against no team has he done better in the tournament (three goals also against Genoa and Inter); in particular, in both of his matches against the Gialloblù he has participated in two goals (a brace in November 2020 and a goal plus an assist in July 2020).

Before Enrico Delprato, the last Italian defender for Parma who had scored at least three goals in a single Serie A season was Paolo De Ceglie in 2014/15 (also three); the last to reach four was Alessandro Lucarelli in 2013/14.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
AC Milan, 7th position with 22 points and a positive goal difference of +9
Atalanta, 2nd position with 31 points and a positive goal difference of +20

👉 It’s a tough setback for AC Milan, as they seem to be waving goodbye to their Scudetto hopes. On Friday, December 6, 2024, Atalanta triumphed over Milan in the Serie A Week 15 match held at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy. This victory marks Atalanta’s ninth straight win across both the league and the Champions League, temporarily placing them at the top of the standings. They now lead Napoli by two points, who are set to face Lazio tomorrow at the Stadio Maradona.

Milan’s impressive run of eight consecutive positive results has come to an end, leaving them four points behind Juventus. They could find themselves either matched or surpassed by Bologna, who are up against the Bianconeri tomorrow.

This marks the first time in their history that Atalanta has accumulated over 30 points after 14 Serie A matches, based on the three-point win system. Additionally, the team from Bergamo has achieved an impressive eight consecutive victories, matching their previous record of nine straight wins from February to July 2020.

Atalanta struck first in the 12th minute when Charles De Ketelaere found the net with a close-range header into the bottom right corner. Marten de Roon provided the assist, delivering a precise free kick from the side that reached the Belgian at the far post. De Ketelaere outjumped the defenders to score and put the Nerazzurri ahead.

AC Milan responded quickly, leveling the score at 1-1 in the 22nd minute. Álvaro Morata found the back of the net from close range with a right-footed shot. The setup came from Rafael Leão, who received a vertical pass from Theo Hernandez, evaded Djimsiti, and delivered a low cross to the far post, allowing Morata to tap in the equalizer for the Rossoneri.

Image

In the 87th minute, Atalanta reclaimed the lead when Ademola Lookman found the net with a header aimed at the center. Sead Kolasinac provided the assist after a corner was given away by Mike Maignan. It all started with a corner from Samardzic, followed by Kolasinac’s header, and then Lookman scored with a close-range header, putting the Nerazzurri back in front.

Stats before the game

Atalanta and Milan have faced each other 126 times in Serie A, resulting in 45 draws, 26 wins for Atalanta, and 55 victories for Milan. The Bergamo side has notched up more draws against any other team in the league, matching their 45 draws with Juventus.

Since the 2020/21 season, Milan has triumphed in four out of their eight encounters with Atalanta, recording 2 draws and 2 losses. During this period, Atalanta has only lost more matches to Inter (six) and Napoli (five).

The last time Atalanta played Milan at the Gewiss Stadium, they secured a 3-2 victory on December 9, 2023. Interestingly, they have only managed to achieve back-to-back home wins against the Rossoneri once in Serie A, which was between November 2006 and January 2008.

Milan has managed to keep a clean sheet in six out of their last ten league matches, including two shutouts in their latest games. However, the Rossoneri haven’t recorded three consecutive clean sheets in Serie A since February 2023, when they achieved this feat against Atalanta.

This season, Milan has only secured two victories in their six away matches (with two draws and two losses), which could mark the first time since the 2018/19 season that they finish their first seven away games with so few wins (W2 D3 L2). In the league, Atalanta leads in headed goals scored, netting six, which is the same as Udinese. Additionally, the Bergamo side has yet to concede a headed goal in the 2024/25 Serie A season, just like Napoli and Udinese.

Player Stats

Get ready for an exciting matchup featuring the four Serie A stars who have made the biggest impact on the scoreboard in the 2024 calendar year. Charles De Ketelaere (30, 14 goals and 16 assists), Ademola Lookman (30, 19 goals and 11 assists), Rafael Leão (28, 16 goals and 12 assists), and Christian Pulisic (27, 16 goals and 11 assists).

It’s worth mentioning that all of Rafael Leão’s goals this season have come from away matches, placing him among the top scorers who have only scored away in the 2024/25 Serie A, alongside Razvan Marin, Davide Frattesi, and Duván Zapata.

Napoli continues to surge ahead, solidifying their lead. With a victory over Torino, they have now increased their advantage to 32 points. This win at the Olimpico Grande Torino is crucial for Napoli. Conte’s squad celebrated a goal from Scott McTominay, who was undoubtedly the standout performer on the field. Torino relied on the incredible efforts of Milinkovic, who made remarkable saves against Romelu Lukaku in the first half and Olivera in the second. Despite Torino’s relentless push for an equalizer in the second half, Napoli held firm.

The match between Fiorentina and Inter was halted in the 17th minute due to Edoardo Bove falling ill, causing concerns for his well-being. The Tuscan midfielder is now in intensive care at Careggi Hospital; he is conscious but sedated, and thankfully, his life is not in danger. According to Serie A rules, the game will need to be finished, with the remaining 73 minutes to be played. An update on his recovery will be provided soon.

AC Milan continues to push for the top of the standings after a convincing 3-0 victory over Empoli at San Siro Stadium. Álvaro Morata opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and Tijjani Reijnders shone with two goals, netting in the 44th and 69th minutes. Empoli’s Youssef Maleh came close to scoring, hitting the crossbar in the 54th minute. This win boosts AC Milan’s points to 22, marking their second consecutive clean sheet in the league. Paulo Fonseca’s squad displayed a strong defensive performance and a potent attack, showcasing their excellent form.  Empoli remains with 16 points. In the upcoming round, Milan will travel to face Atalanta, while Empoli will take on Hellas Verona away.

Lecce and Juventus played to a 1-1 draw in an exciting match. The Salento players showed intense emotions, and while Perin made some key saves, he couldn’t stop Rebic’s goal in the 94th minute, which came from a perfect cross by Krstovic. Juventus, despite taking an early lead with a deflected shot from Cambiaso, had to settle for a draw against Lecce.

Cagliari secured a victory triumphing over Hellas Verona with a narrow 1-0 scoreline. The decisive goal came in the 75th minute from the reliable Piccoli. Nicola’s squad delivered a strong performance, clinching a vital win in this direct matchup. Meanwhile, Verona showed some improvement in their defense but struggled to create significant chances in attack. In the upcoming round, Cagliari will take on Fiorentina, while Verona is set to face Empoli.

Como and Monza earned an additional point in the overall standings.  The match remained intense, with both Djuric and Andrea Belotti coming close to scoring in the dying moments, but it ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw.  The action wrapped up at the Sinigaglia Stadium in Como!  Sacchi praised the thrilling encounter, noting that while there weren’t many clear chances, the high tempo showcased both teams’ desire for the derby victory. The first half was fiercely competitive, highlighted by Engelhardt scoring against Turati in the 36th minute. In the second half, Monza ramped up their efforts, and in the 54th minute, Caprari capitalized on a penalty from Paz’s handball, leveling the score.  Fabregas and Nesta’s squads will be facing off in their next games, with one traveling to Venezia and the other hosting Udinese.

Bologna is back on track in the championship, celebrating their fourth victory in the last five matches. This brings their total points to 21, just one shy of Milan. They are holding steady in eighth place in the standings. On the other hand, Venezia is facing a tough time, suffering their fourth consecutive loss (10th overall in Serie A), leaving them at the bottom of the table with only eight points. Venezia is in serious trouble and needs to turn things around quickly to avoid relegation.

What a setback for Lazio! Parma has made a significant move up the standings, landing in mid-table and delivering a tough lesson to the Biancoceleste. With this victory, Parma now has 15 points, while Lazio remains at 28. The match was thrilling, with Man scoring first, followed by Haj Mohamed doubling the lead. Castellanos managed to score late in the game, but Delprato sealed the deal with a final goal. Looking ahead, Parma will face Inter next, while Lazio needs to devise a solid strategy to take on Serie A leaders Napoli.

It’s such a bummer for Udinese to lose at home! They lost against Genoaand unfortunately fell short. This marks Genoa’s fourth straight positive result, bringing them to 14 points and moving them up to 13th in the standings. On the other hand, Runjaic’s team suffers a defeat but remains in 9th place with 17 points. Genoa leaves with 3 points after their win over Udinese. They scored once in each half, with Andrea Pinamonti netting the first goal in the 13th minute and Zanoli inadvertently doubling the score with an own goal in the 67th. Udinese was left with ten players just 4 minutes into the game when Isaak Touré was shown a red card, and they struggled to create any chances against Leali. As they look forward to the 15th matchday of Serie A, Vieira’s squad will host Torino, while Udinese will be the guests of Monza.

✅   What happened in Round 13?

Mission accomplished! Napoli achieved their goal by securing a victory in Serie A Week 13 against AS Roma at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. This crucial home win propels Napoli back to the top of the standings, leading Serie A with 29 points. The competition for the Scudetto remains fierce, with Atalanta, Inter, and Fiorentina closely trailing at 28 points each.  The final score was 1-0, and can you believe who netted the goal? Of course, it was none other than BIG Romelu Lukaku, the former Roma star!

Inter delivered a stunning performance, overwhelming Hellas Verona with a remarkable 5-0 victory at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium on Saturday, November 23, 2024. The match was heavily one-sided, with Inter taking control in the first half. Correa opened the scoring, followed by two goals from Thuram, and contributions from De Vrij and Bisseck sealed the deal. The second half saw little action, as the Nerazzurri focused on managing their lead while Verona failed to pose any threat. This win secured three crucial points for Inzaghi’s squad, while Zanetti faces a challenging road ahead. Unfortunately, the only downside for Inter was Acerbi’s injury, which forced him to leave the field after just 15 minutes due to a muscle issue.

Lazio secured a decisive victory overpowering Bologna at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. This win marked their seventh consecutive triumph in both the league and the Europa League, and for the second time in a row, they finished a match without conceding a goal.  Lazio has now caught up with Inter, Atalanta, and Fiorentina, all tied at 28 points, just one point shy of Napoli with 29 points, the league leaders. On the flip side, Bologna’s nine-match unbeaten run in Serie A came to an end, preventing them from moving ahead of Milan and keeping them in eighth place. They now face the risk of being overtaken by Udinese, who are playing away against Empoli. Simply put, Bologna is feeling the heat and needs a win to start their climb toward the European spots.

What a letdown! The highly anticipated clash between AC Milan and Juventus ended in a goalless draw at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. With no goals and minimal excitement, both teams walked away with just one point each. The match fell short of the hype, likely due to both sides prioritizing not to lose, as a single mistake could have been costly. After 13 matchdays, Milan sits at 19 points, a position that needs improvement. Juventus, on the other hand, has accumulated 24 points.  In the next round of Serie A, Milan will host Empoli, while Juventus will travel to face Lecce.

Atalanta beat Parma at the Ennio Tardini Stadium. This victory marks Atalanta’s seventh consecutive win, allowing them to tie with Inter in the standings at 28 points. Meanwhile, Parma faces another defeat after their recent win against Venezia, remaining at 12 points from 13 matches. Atalanta took control early, scoring just 4 minutes into the game with a goal from Mateo Retegui. Ederson added a second goal, but Parma fought back in the second half, narrowing the gap with a stunning strike from Cancellieri. However, Atalanta sealed the match with a third goal from Ademola Lookman, following two earlier disallowed goals, dashing Parma’s hopes. Looking ahead, Atalanta will be back in action on Tuesday for a Champions League clash against Young Boys, followed by a trip to Rome for their 14th Serie A matchday. They will host Lazio at the Tardini in Parma on Sunday at 15:00

Torino and Monza played to a 1-1 draw at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium. This result allows Torino to accumulate 15 points, placing them in 11th position in the league standings. Both teams managed to break their streak of three consecutive losses with this draw. The atmosphere is tense as Torino supporters plan to leave the Curve empty during the first half to protest against President Cairo. The group will gather beneath the stands. The protest will carry on into the second half within the stadium. “If you care about Toro, come and support us.” Pietro Arese, the Italian record holder in the 1500 meters and a devoted Granata fan, states, “It’s time for a change in ownership.”

Genoa and Cagliari wrapped up Serie A Week 13 with an exciting draw at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy. Frendrup and Miretti found the net for the home side, while Marin and Piccoli converted penalties for the visitors. Both teams now sit on 11 points in the standings, temporarily surpassing Como, who remain at 10 points.

Lazio secured a decisive victory in Serie A Week 13, overpowering Bologna on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. This win marked their seventh consecutive triumph in both the league and the Europa League.  Moreover, and for the second time in a row without conceding a goal.

Lazio has been strong at home, remaining unbeaten in 10 of their last 11 Serie A matches against Bologna (with 7 wins and 3 draws).  Although they did lose the most recent encounter 1-2 on February 18. Historically, Bologna has only managed to achieve two consecutive away wins against Lazio once, during the period from 1960 to 1964.

Bologna has claimed victory in 48 of their 140 Serie A clashes with Lazio (with 38 draws and 54 losses), only trailing their record against Roma (54 wins). Last season, Bologna triumphed in both matches against Lazio and could potentially secure three consecutive wins against the Biancocelesti in Serie A for the first time since 1979 and 1980.

The action starts…

Lazio gained the upper hand in the 68th minute when Samuel Gigot found the back of the net with a close-range header aimed at the bottom right corner. This opportunity arose after a corner kick given away by Sam Beukema. Zaccagni’s corner was slightly redirected by Moro, inadvertently setting up the ball perfectly for Gigot at the far post, where he had plenty of time to score.

Bologna is in complete disarray. In the 73rd minute, Lazio Captain Mattia Zaccagni found the back of the net with a precise right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. Pellegrini set up De Silvestri on the left, who then assisted his captain. Zaccagni made a clever move back to the right, curling a beautiful shot past Ravaglia into the far post.

And that’s a wrap! Lazio secured their victory in the dying moments of the game. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scoring in the 92nd minute with a precise right-footed shot into the bottom right corner. The assist was by Gustav Isaksen. The final score stands at Lazio 3 – 0 Bologna.

Stats before the game

Lazio have won 10 of their last 11 matches between Serie A and the Europa League (L1), including all six of the most recent; the Biancocelesti have not achieved at least seven consecutive wins in all competitions since the period between September and November 2017 (nine in that case with Simone Inzaghi as coach).
Bologna are unbeaten in their last nine league matches (4W, 5D), in the last 40 years only once have the Rossoblu recorded a streak of 10 consecutive matches without defeat in Serie A (10 between August and November 2023).
Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna have collected 18 points in these first 11 league games, the same as accumulated at this point in the tournament in 2023/24 after the first 11 games played. Only twice have the Rossoblu done better after 11 seasonal matches in Serie A in the era of three points for a win: in 2002/03 and 1996/97 (19 in both).
On the one hand, Lazio is the team that has earned the most points in home games in this championship (16 in six matches), on the other hand, no team has obtained more points than Bologna away from home (11 in six matches), on par with Juventus, Inter, Fiorentina and Napoli.
Lazio is the team that has improved the most in this championship in terms of points compared to the first 12 games of last Serie A season: +8 for the Biancocelesti (25 in 2024/25 compared to 17 in 2023/24).

Player Stats

Mattia Zaccagni has scored in the last two championship matches and only once in his career has he found the net in three consecutive appearances in Serie A: in January 2023 (against Empoli, Sassuolo and Milan). The only brace of the 1995-born player with the Lazio shirt in Serie A came against Bologna, on 12 February 2022 at the Olimpico.

Riccardo Orsolini is the player who has scored the first goal of the match the most times in this Serie A season: four of his five goals in this championship have in fact arrived with the score at 0-0. The 1997-born player could become only the fourth Bologna player to score in five consecutive Serie A appearances in the three points for a win era, after Marco Di Vaio (between November and December 2008), Julio Cruz (between March and April 2002) and Roberto Baggio (between April and May 1998).
