Bologna won the Serie A Week 25 match on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. Bologna and Torino delivered a thrilling and explosive match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats! Both teams played openly, showcasing their skills and entertaining the crowd. The home side emerged victorious with a last-minute own goal by Biraghi, which was influenced by Castro’s shot. Ndoye shone with a brace, and Elmas scored a breathtaking goal in the match.

Looking ahead to the next Serie A fixtures, Bologna will be up against Parma, and Torino will challenge Milan.

The match …

Bologna opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Dan Ndoye found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the center. Tommaso Pobega provided the assist after Adams lost possession, allowing Pobega to skillfully set up Ndoye, who outpaced Coco and got one past a struggling Milinkovic-Savic.

Torino leveled the score at 1-1 in the 37th minute when Nikola Vlasic found the back of the net with a left-footed shot. The goal came from a swift counterattack, where Maripan delivered a perfect cross into the box. Holm’s crucial intervention set up Vlasic for the finish, and he made no mistake with his left foot.

Eljif Elmas found the back of the net in the 65th minute with a stunning right-footed shot that curled into the top left corner. Ché Adams provided the assist. It was a remarkable goal from the Macedonian, who skillfully nutmegged Beukema before delicately chipping the ball over Skorupski to put his team ahead.

What a dramatic finish! In the final minute, Cristiano Biraghi scored an own goal! Castro’s shot took a deflection off Biraghi, leaving Savic helpless. Bologna snatched the win with a score of 3-2.

Bologna has successfully kept a clean sheet in their last three Serie A matches against Torino. It is a feat they have never accomplished in four consecutive games against the Granata. The last time the Rossoblu achieved more than three consecutive clean sheets against a single opponent was in April 2016, when they managed five against Genoa.

Torino has managed to draw six out of their last seven Serie A matches, winning just one. Since Christmas, they have recorded at least two more draws than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues. On the other hand, Bologna remains unbeaten in all six of their Serie A fixtures in 2025, with two wins and four draws.

The last time they went seven games in a single calendar year without a loss in the top division was in 2012, when Stefano Pioli was their coach. Additionally, Torino is currently on a five-match unbeaten streak in away games in Serie A, with one win and four draws, last achieving six consecutive away games without a loss in May 2023.

✅   What’s happening in Round 24?

The battle for the Scudetto is heating up, with Napoli and Inter in a tight race!

Inter secured a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina, closing the gap to just 1 point behind Napoli, who has 54 points. The scoring kicked off in the 28th minute when Marin Pongracic accidentally put one in his own net from a corner. Rolando Mandragora brought Fiorentina level with a penalty in the 44th minute, but Marko Arnautovic sealed the win for Inter with a header in the 52nd minute, assisted by Carlos Augusto. Looking ahead, Inter will take on Juventus away, while Fiorentina will host Como.

What a letdown for Napoli!  Their goal was to secure a victory against Udinese at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. However, Udinese put up a valiant effort and managed to hold Napoli to a 1-1 draw. Napoli now sits at 55 points, closely followed by Inter with 51 points, who will face Fiorentina on Monday. Udinese has reached 30 points. This was certainly a missed chance for Conte’s squad, as they couldn’t extend their lead at the top of the table. The Friulians showcased their determination, coming to Maradona ready to compete and earn points.

AC Milan secured a victory against Empoli at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. This loss is particularly hard for Empoli as they inch closer to the relegation zone. For Milan, this marks their second consecutive win across both the Coppa Italia and Serie A, allowing them to rise to seventh place, temporarily surpassing Bologna, who will be facing Lecce tomorrow. They are now just five points behind fourth-placed Juventus, with a game in hand, while keeping an eye on Lazio and Fiorentina, who could potentially move ahead of Juventus in the standings.  A noteworthy highlight: Santiago Giménez has made history as the first Mexican player to score for AC Milan.

Juventus secured a 2-1 victory over Como, thanks to a standout performance from Kolo Muani, who netted both goals for his team. He started strong with an impressive strike and later sealed the win with a penalty. Como put up a good fight, scoring through Diao, but ultimately faltered after a blunder by Juventus goalkeeper Butez. This narrow win helps Juventus climb the standings. In their next match, Juventus will take on Inter, while Como is set to face Fiorentina.

Lazio crushed  AC Monza with an astonishing 5-1 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. Lazio celebrates a home victory, climbing back to fourth place with 45 points. Meanwhile, Monza remains at the bottom of the table with just 13 points. The match saw Lazio take control early, with Marusic. In the second half, Pedro added two more goals, while Castellanos and Dele Bashiru contributed to the final score. Monza managed to score a consolation goal through Sensi’s penalty.  Monza is feeling the heat as they find themselves at the bottom of the standings and need to start winning soon. The threat of relegation to Serie B looms large for them next season.

Atalanta delivered a stunning performance against Verona at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium. They dominated the game, winning 5-0 without allowing any goals from their opponents. The standout player was forward Mateo Retegui, who netted an incredible four goals, reinforcing his position as the league’s top scorer with a total of 20 goals. With this victory, Atalanta has increased their lead over Juventus to +7.

Venezia beaten by AS Roma at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium. Roma celebrated a 1-0 victory over Venezia, marking their eighth consecutive positive result under Claudio Ranieri. The match was decided by a penalty from Paulo Dybala in the 57th minute. With this win, Roma sits in ninth place in the standings with 34 points, trailing Juventus, who currently holds the fourth spot, by 7 points. The battle for European qualification is still on. Venezia finds itself second to last, 5 points behind Cagliari and Empoli, who are just above the relegation zone.

Cagliari defeated Parma at the Unipol Domus with a 2-1.  The Sardinians are making significant progress in the standings, now sitting at 24 points and pulling away from Parma, who is in the relegation zone with just 20 points.  Cagliari secured a crucial win, highlighted by an own goal from Alessandro Vogliacco and a debut goal from Florinel Coman. Meanwhile, Parma’s struggles persist as they remain winless in 2025, with Giovanni Leoni’s goal not enough to change their fortunes.  Looking ahead, the next matches feature Atalanta facing Cagliari and Parma going up against Roma.

Torino and Genoa ended the Serie A Week 24 game with a 1-1 draw on Saturday 8 February 2025 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy. A point each that is good for Torino and Genoa who are increasingly distancing themselves from Lecce, Verona and Como. Their distance in the standings remains unchanged with the Granata always one point more than Vieira’s team. While waiting for the match against Napoli, Torino is now approaching Udinese at +1.

Lecce and Bologna failed to win at the Via del Mare Stadium. The match ended 0-0.  Bologna is currently level with Milan, both sitting at 38 points. Their upcoming match on February 26th will feel like a playoff showdown. Next, Bologna will take on Torino in the Serie A. Meanwhile, Lecce holds steady in 14th place, now tied with Cagliari at 24 points. They nearly scored three times in the first half but were thwarted by Skorupski’s impressive goalkeeping. Bologna had a late opportunity to score during injury time, but Falcone managed to stop Dallinga’s header in the 95th minute. In the next round, Bologna will face Monza, who are at the bottom of the table. Monza

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 1st position with 54 points and a positive goal difference of +22
Udinese, 10th position with 29 points and a negative goal difference of -8

What a disappointment for Napoli! Their goal was to secure a victory in the Serie A Week 24 match against Udinese on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Italy.

Napoli’s coach, Antonio Conte, was honored with the Philadelphia Coach of the Month award prior to the match. This recognition is certainly well-deserved, as he has led Napoli to maintain a strong position at the top of the league this season.

. In the 37th minute, Napoli took the lead. Scott McTominay scored with a header from close range thanks to an assist from Matteo Politano, who delivered a cross following a corner conceded by Jurgen Ekkelenkamp. Politano’s ball to the far post set up the perfect opportunity for the former United player to score.

✈️ It’s Scott McTominay Airways! Let’s go, Scott! Jump as high as you can… take flight… and kaboom! A stunning headed goal!!!

Udinese leveled the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute when Jurgen Ekkelenkamp found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Jesper Karlström.

In the 87th minute, Noah Okafor makes his first appearance for Napoli, coming on for David Neres.

✅  Stats before the game:

Napoli has an impressive record against Udinese, remaining unbeaten in their last 17 Serie A encounters, with 14 victories and three draws. Historically, the only teams against which the Partenopei have enjoyed a longer unbeaten streak are Cagliari (18), Cesena (26), Como (18), and Roma (19).

At home, Napoli has triumphed in their last 10 matches against Udinese in Serie A, averaging 3.1 goals per game during this stretch. The only teams against which they have achieved more consecutive home wins are Como (12) and Hellas Verona (11). After a streak of seven straight wins, Napoli recently drew 1-1 with Roma, and they haven’t had back-to-back draws in Serie A since the final two matchdays of last season under coach Francesco Calzona.

Buy Serie A tickets

This season, Napoli has kept a clean sheet in six of their 11 home games, matching the best record alongside Juventus and Milan; they haven’t recorded seven clean sheets in their first 12 home matches since the 2018/19 season.

After experiencing three draws and two losses, Udinese finally secured a victory in their latest Serie A match, triumphing 3-2 over Venezia. The Bianconeri haven’t managed to achieve back-to-back wins in the league since they had a streak of three victories last August and September.

On the road, Udinese has faced challenges, losing five of their last nine away matches in Serie A, with a record of two wins and two draws. This is equal to the number of defeats they had in their previous 18 away games, where they recorded six wins and seven draws. Interestingly, both Napoli and Udinese are the only teams in this Serie A season that have yet to allow a headed goal. Additionally, Udinese has scored eight headed goals out of a total of 28, making up 29% of their total goals, which is the highest percentage in the league, tied with Genoa.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Parma, 17th position with 20 points and a negative goal difference of -13
Cagliari, 18th position with 20 points and a negative goal difference of -14

Cagliari defeated Parma in the Serie A Week 24 on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Italy.

Mina and Bonny both struck the posts, and Djuric is currently sidelined with an injury.

Looking ahead, the next matches feature Atalanta facing Cagliari and Parma going up against Roma.

The match …

Cagliari gained the upper hand in the 57th minute when Alessandro Vogliacco inadvertently put the ball into his own net. Augello’s cross brushed against Adopo before Vogliacco’s crucial touch misled Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

Cagliari is ahead 2-0 in the 70th minute. Florinel Coman found the net with a right-footed strike into the bottom left corner, thanks to an assist from Gianluca Gaetano. The home team extends their advantage as Gaetano sets up Coman, who fires a strong right-footed shot from outside the box, leaving goalkeeper Suzuki with no chance

Can a debut get any better? Florinel Coman made a remarkable entrance with a fantastic long-range goal, pulling Cagliari away from the danger zone! This win also meant that Parma faced their third straight defeat.

Parma shortened the distance in the 79th minute. Parma managed to score their consolation goal in the 78th minute when Giovanni Leoni found the net with a powerful header into the top right corner. The assist came from Ange-Yoan Bonny, who delivered a precise cross after a corner given away by Gabriele Zappa. This goal brought Parma closer, making it 2-1 with Leoni’s impressive header.

Cagliari official lineup against Parma

Stats before the game.

Cagliari has maintained an unbeaten record in their last six Serie A encounters with Parma, securing four wins and two draws. Their only longer unbeaten streak is against Sassuolo, where they have gone eight matches without a loss.

At home, Cagliari has triumphed in four of their last five matches against Parma in Serie A, with one draw, matching the number of victories they achieved in their previous eleven meetings with the Gialloblu, which included four draws and three losses. However, after a promising stretch of three unbeaten games (two wins and one draw), Cagliari has faced defeat in their last two matches, allowing two goals in each.

This season, the Rossoblu have already experienced three consecutive losses, each with at least two goals conceded, occurring between October and November. Additionally, Cagliari has lost six of their last ten home games in Serie A, with only three wins and one draw. Since mid-September, only Monza has performed worse at home, suffering seven defeats.
