Roma secured a victory against Parma in the Serie A Week 25 match on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma, Italy. This win boosts Roma’s points to 37, while Parma remains at 20 points, just one point away from escaping the relegation zone. The game was tightly contested, with Soule’s brilliant free kick in the first half proving to be the turning point. Parma struggled after Leali received a red card in the 31st minute, leaving them a man down for more than an hour. As the match drew to a close, Parma made efforts to advance, but the Giallorossi held their ground comfortably.

Parma is on a tough streak, having lost their last four matches. Their last win was back in late December when they defeated Monza 2-1 at home.  Now, Parma finds themselves in the relegation zone and is desperately seeking points for survival, while Roma is focused on their upcoming Europa League clash with Porto and needs a win to re-enter the European competition.

Parma is in a difficult spot. In the 31st minute, Referee Chiffi sends off Giovanni Leoni with a red card for a foul on Matías Soulé, leaving the team with only ten players. Initially, Roma is awarded a penalty, but after a VAR review, it’s found that the foul took place outside the penalty area. This results in a free-kick for Roma and a red card for Leoni.

Roma gained the advantage in the 33rd minute when Matías Soulé expertly curled a left-footed free kick into the top right corner. Positioned just outside the area, Soulé struck the ball perfectly, sending it just beneath the crossbar and nearly grazing the top corner.

Parma has faced Roma more than any other team in Serie A, suffering 34 defeats out of 55 encounters, with the Giallorossi claiming victory. The Emilians have managed to win 11 times and there have been 10 draws in their history together.

In their last 15 Serie A meetings, there has only been one draw between Parma and Roma, which ended 0-0 on February 15, 2015, at the Olimpico. The Giallorossi have dominated with 11 wins compared to Parma’s three.

Interestingly, Parma has triumphed in their last two home matches against Roma, both ending 2-0 without conceding. The only time they achieved more consecutive home wins against the Giallorossi was between 1990 and 1993, when they won three straight at the Tardini. After suffering three consecutive losses, Parma is at risk of losing four in a row for the first time this season. The last time they experienced such a streak in Serie A was from April to May 2021, when they faced nine defeats.
