Italian Soccer Serie A

Hello, my friends. Here are the 2019-2020 Serie A Week 21 RESULTS / Twenty-first Round on Friday 24, Saturday 25, and Sunday 26 January 2020.

Juventus losing their second game this season after losing against Napoli at the San Paolo Stadium.  However, Juventus remain the sole leader of the Serie A with 51 points followed by Inter with 48 points.

What a historical round!  Something unexpected happening at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium.  Imagine, in 113 years, Torino never got such a humiliating defeat as it happened with Atalanta crushing them with a score of Torino 0 – 7 Atalanta!!  Yep, you are reading right.  Atalanta conquered the Olimpico and Torino not even able to score the honor goal.

👉 Up to Serie A Week 21: There is a three-way race between Juventus (51), Inter (48), and Lazio (46)

⚽️ Serie A Top Scorer up to Week 21:
Lazio forward Ciro Immobile with 23 goals

Serie A tickets

The awaited 70th Derby della Capitale ended with a draw, AS Roma 1 – 1 Lazio.  The full bragging rights to rule the City of Rome is split sharing 1 point each.  The highlight of the match could be the mistake of Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez resulting in Lazio’s goal to draw.  Roma forward Edin Dzeko returning to score against Lazio after 4 years back on April 3, 2016.  The disappointment of Luis Alberto when Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi substituted him.

AC Milan continuing their “motivational road” to climb the Serie A standing towards the top 6 positions.  AC Milan  defeating Brescia with a score of 0-1.  The defeat brought Brescia down from the 19th to the 20th position while AC Milan is in the 8th position with 31 points.

The big flop is Inter failing to win the home game against Cagliari at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter slowing down almost every week in the race for the Scudetto.  Inter reaching 48 points, but Lazio having 46 points and  pending match might take the second position away from Inter.

Good news is for Bologna winning the Derby against SPAL.   The party is not only for Bologna fans, but also a gift for Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.  The victory sent Bologna from the 12th to the 10th position while SPAL remain in the 18th position.

Sampdoria failed to win the game at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium despite having an extra player since the 25th minute.  Sassuolo put up a strong front and battled until the end to avoid losing.  This goalless draw is more like a lost for Sampdoria.

Another game ending with a goalless draw is Fiorentina vs Genoa.   The draw helping more Genoa because they left the last position of the Serie A climbing from the 20th to the 19th position with 15 points.  Bad news is for Fiorentina because they stepped down from the 11th to the 13th position with 25 points.
