The great Milan Derby ends with a draw!  AC Milan  and Inter failing to win the Serie A Week 12 game  at the San Siro Stadium.   AC Milan playing  a Serie A Derby with at least seven points ahead of Inter in the standings for the first time since November 2016 – on that eve the Rossoneri from Vincenzo Montella had 8 points more than the Nerazzurri coached by Stefano Pioli and the match ended 2- 2.  AC Milan have won 10 of their first 11 matches of the season for the first time in their history in Serie A, including all of their last seven matches – it is since September 2006 that AC Milan have not struck consecutive league successes (nine in that case with Carlo Ancelotti on the bench).

Hellas Verona forces the draw again against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, after the one that last year cost the Napoli entry into the Champions League with the same result as tonight.  Hellas taking the lead  with Giovanni Simeone anticipating everyone in the 13th minute. Since Tudor’s arrival on the Gialloblù bench (round of 18-19 September), the Argentine center forward has been the top scorer in the five major European leagues with 9 goals.  After just six minutes, Napoli drew with a diagonal from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.    Napoli played with a commemorating special shirt paying tribute to Diego Armando Maradona after one year of his passing.  Napoli will play  three Serie A matches in November wearing this shirt against Verona, Inter and Lazio.

The Serie A Week 12 game between Empoli and Genoa ended with a draw on Friday 5 November 2021 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium. Genoa needed the victory to avoid falling down in the relegation zone, though saving 1 point. Empoli having +7 points lead over Genoa. Previously, Empoli remained unbeaten in their first five Serie A matches against Genoa (2W, 3D).  Pending games tomorrow and will see whether Genoa survive or step down to the relegation zone.

Amazing, unexpected. David defeating Goliath. Venezia, promoted from Serie B, overturn the result and defeat AS Roma with a great character and tactical reaction in the second half at the Penzo Stadium. Aramu equalized on a penalty, Okereke signed the final 3-2. This is a prestigious victory for Venezia and also helping them to leave the relegation zone. Climbing from the 18th to the 15th position.  Roma stepping down from the 5th to the 6th position.

Lazio crushing Salernitana with a 3 -0 at the Olimpico Stadium. The victory is valuable for Lazio overtaking AS Roma in the 5th position reaching 21 points while Roma remain with 19 points.  Highlight of the match is Lazio forward Ciro Immobile scoring his 10th goal this season remaining the top scorer.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 5th position with 19 points and a positive goal difference of +6
Cagliari, 20th position with 6 points and a negative goal difference of -12

It’s now or never for Cagliari to finally react.  The mission is to win the Serie A Week 12 game against Atalanta on Saturday 6 November 2021 at the Unipol Domus in Cagliari, Italy.  Cagliari are in the last position with only 6 points.   Atalanta Coach Gian Piero Gasperini will look to win the game because it will be his  200th victory in Serie A in the era of three points per victory (from 1994/95 to today) only four other coaches have reached and exceeded this milestone: Carlo Ancelotti, Massimiliano Allegri, Luciano Spalletti and Guidolin.

A flash goal in the 7th minute. Mario Pasalic defeating Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno from very close range with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Davide Zappacosta.

Cagliari equalizing for the 1-1 in the 27th minute. It is João Pedro to defeat Atalanta goalkeeper with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Diego Godín.

Atalanta taking the lead again in the 43rd minute. It is forward Duván Zapata to score with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Teun Koopmeiners.

Stats before the game.  Atalanta have won in all of their last three Serie A games played against Cagliari, but have never made it to four wins in a row against the Sardinians in the top flight. Atalanta have found success in all their last three Serie A away games against Cagliari, all three with a score of 0-1, the last two of which with goals from Luis Muriel.
Six points for Cagliari so far: in the era of three points per victory after the first 11 matches they did worse only in 2005/06 (five) and in 1999/00 (five). Among the teams in the current championship, Atalanta is the one that has not lost the longest away from home (11 games, with eight wins and three draws): the Bergamo team has so far collected 13 of its 19 points away from home (4W, 1D ).  This is the worst start in his career as a manager in Serie A for Walter Mazzarri: the Tuscan coach had never collected five defeats in the first eight benches at the helm of a top league club, collecting only five points.

👉Lineup Cagliari (3-5-1-1-): Cragno; Zappa, Godin, Carboni; Bellanova Nandez, Strootman, Deiola, Lykogiannis; Marin; Joao Pedro.

👉Lineup Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Musso; de Roon, Palomino, Demiral; Maehle, Freuler, Koopmeiners, Zappacosta; Malinovskyi, Pasalic; Zapata.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:

Fiorentina, 7th position with 18 points and a positive goal difference of +3

Juventus win the Serie A Week 12 game against Fiorentina on Saturday 6 November 2021 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy.  Juventus struggled to grab this victory in the 91st minute.  Surely, 3 golden points to help Juventus reaching 18 points same as Fiorentina.     Previously, Fiorentina were unbeaten in their last two games against Juventus in Serie A (1W, 1D) and have failed to collect three consecutive results against the Bianconeri in the league since 2008 (four consecutive in that case).  Juventus have lost their last two league games, including their last home game.

Juventus grab this home win after struggling against a 10-man squad.  Referee Simone Sozza gave a second yellow card to Fiorentina player Nikola Milenkovic in the 73rd minute  making the automatic red card 🟥 .

The savior for Juventus is Juan Cuadrado claiming all 3 points in the 91st minute. Cuadrado defeating Fiorentina goalkeeper Terracciano with a right footed shot to the center. The assist is by Manuel Locatelli.

Stats before the game. One of Fiorentina’s seven Serie A victories in Turin against Juventus (in 82 comparisons) came just last season: the Viola have never managed to win two league games in a row away from Juventus.  Fiorentina have lost in their last two Serie A away games (both 1-0): they have not collected three straight away defeats in the league since December 2019 with Montella on the bench.
If they fail to win this match, Juventus would record the worst start in their history in the era of three points per victory, considering the first 12 Serie A games: for now the negative record is represented by the 18 points obtained in 1998/99. and in 2015/16, in the latter case with Allegri on the bench.

Congrats to Jack Bonaventura making his 300th appearance in Serie A.
