AC Milan failing to win the Serie A Week 13 game defeated by Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.   AC Milan losing their first game this season, though, remain in the 2nd position with 32 points while Fiorentina reaching 21 points climbing the Standing. It is a superb victory for Fiorentina in front of their fans.

A flop for Napoli wasting the chance to be the sole leader.  Inter win the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Napoli on Sunday 21 November 2021 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Napoli and AC Milan both leaders of the Serie A with 32 points wasted their chances to become sole leaders. Milan defeated by Fiorentina.   Good news is for Inter because they  shorten the gap reach 28 points being at -4 points below.   Luciano Spalletti reunites with Inter, which he coached for 76 Serie A matches between 2017 and 2019: the last time he faced the Nerazzurri as an opponent at San Siro in the league, his team won (Inter-Roma 1 -3 of February 2017).

Coach Andriy Shevchenko making a painful debut as Genoa Coach losing the home game.  AS Roma win the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.  Genoa are desperately looking to earn points stepping down into the relegation zone from the 17th to the 18th position. The victory helped Roma to climb from the 8th to the 5th position reaching 22 points.

Atalanta not wasting chances winning the Serie A Week 13 game crushing Spezia with a 5-2 at the Gewiss Stadium. The mission was to won, and they did.  Spezia collapsing and risking to go down to the relegation zone.    No team has conceded more goals than Spezia in this Serie A (31).   Atalanta grabbing those 3 points to continue climbing the Serie A Standing.  Good effort by M’Bala Nzola scoring the 2 goals for Spezia.

Juventus surviving the pressure and win this away game and climb towards the top 5 positions.  Lazio with a big flop losing the Serie A Week 13 game at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium,  Highlights of the match Leonardo Bonucci is the first defender to have scored two penalty goals in a single Serie A match since Maurizio Domizzi for Napoli in October 2007. Ciro Immobile received a special award before the game as best scorer in the history of Lazio club.  Lazio first defeat at home this season.

Bologna failing to win the Serie A Week 13 game against Venezia at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  This is a valuable victory for Venezia continuing their dream for salvation claiming these 3 points reaching 15 points.  Bologna and Venice return to face each other in Serie A for the first time since February 2002 – the last win of Venezia dates back to 1947, followed by Bologna 7 wins, and 7 draws.

This is a wake up call for Cagliari to start earning points.  Sassuolo failing to win the Serie A Week 13 against Cagliari at the Mapei Stadium.  Sassuolo had the advantage playing at home and with a better position having a +8 points lead over Cagliari.  Yet, it failed.  Good news is for Coach Walter Mazzarri gaining at least 1 point after  losing his last four league games at the helm of Cagliari: it is the fourth time he has recorded such a long streak of consecutive defeats in the competition and never in his Serie A career has he reached five in a row.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Genoa, 17th position with 9 points and a negative goal difference of -7
AS Roma, 8th position with 19 points and a positive goal difference of +6

Coach Andriy Shevchenko making a painful debut as Genoa Coach losing the game.  AS Roma win the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Genoa on Sunday 21 November 2021 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.  Genoa are desperately looking to earn points stepping down into the relegation zone from the 17th to the 18th position. The victory helped Roma to climb from the 8th to the 5th position reaching 22 points.

Andriy Shevchenko returns to Serie A 4572 days after his last match as a player with AC Milan (16 May 2009, Udinese-Milan 2-1): in home matches he has never lost in the top flight against Roma (three wins and three draws in six challenges as a player) and scored four goals in the last four games played against the Giallorossi in A.  José Mourinho was the manager of Andriy Shevchenko at Chelsea: for the Ukrainian four goals in 31 Premier League games with the English club coached by the Portuguese between 2006 and 2007.

✅  Stats before the game. Genoa’s last win against Roma in Serie A dates back to May 2014 (1-0 with Gasperini on the bench and a decisive goal by the Greek Fetfatzidis): since then three draws and 11 Giallorossi successes. Roma have not lost any of their last 14 Serie A matches against Genoa (11V, 3N): among the teams currently in Serie A, the Giallorossi have a longer open streak against none.  Five Giallorossi successes and two draws in the last seven matches against Ferraris in the league between Genoa and Rome: among the teams always present in Serie A from the 2014/15 season to today, in fact, the Ligurian one is the only one against which the Capitoline have always remained undefeated away.  Two consecutive defeats for Roma in Serie A (not three since July 2020); José Mourinho, on the other hand, had never lost two games in a row as a manager in the Italian top flight, while considering the top five European tournaments he had reached three consecutive knockouts in February at the helm of Tottenham.

AS Roma opening the score in the 82nd minute. It is Felix Afena-Gyan defeating Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Roma sealing the victory in the 94th minute with the goal by Felix Afena-Gyan!

A flop for Napoli wasting the chance to be the sole leader.  Inter win the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Napoli on Sunday 21 November 2021 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Napoli and AC Milan both leaders of the Serie A with 32 points wasted their chances to become sole leaders. 👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 18th with 9 points and a negative goal difference of -10
Salernitana, 19th position with 7 points and a negative goal difference of -16

The battle for salvation between Salernitana and Sampdoria.  The victorious is Sampdoria winning the Serie A Week 13 game defeating Salernitana on Sunday 21 November 2021 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy.  Two home victories for each of the two teams in the previous four in Serie A between Salernitana and Sampdoria: the last match in the top tournament at Arechi was dated March 1999 and ended 2-0 for the Campania players (Koloušek and Fresi the scorers).

Stats before the game.  The last matches in the league between Salernitana and Sampdoria took place in Serie B and the Sampdoria team won all their last three league games with the grenades (between 2002 and 2003).  Salernitana is the team that has closed the most games in this championship without scoring any goals (six), Sampdoria is just behind in this ranking with four matches without going to target.  With a possible defeat, Sampdoria would record their worst Serie A start in the first 13 days in the era of three points a win: now they have nine points in the standings and the negative record in the top 13 goes back to 10 points in 2013/14 with Delio Rossi on the bench until the 12th (later replaced by Mihajlovic).  Three defeats in a row for Sampdoria: the Blucerchiati have not reached four consecutive KOs in a single Serie A championship since September 2016, with Giampaolo on the bench.

Sampdoria taking the lead in the 40th minute with the own goal by Francesco Di Tacchio.

Sampdoria leading with a 0-2 in the 43rd minute. The goal by Antonio Candreva with a right footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by forward Fabio Quagliarella.
