Genoa, 12th position with 35 points and a negative goal difference of -10

Genoa beat Udinese in the Serie A Week 31 match on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.  Genoa has moved up to a 15-point cushion above the relegation zone, bringing them closer to their goal of survival after a rough start to the season. Meanwhile, Udinese remains stagnant at 40 points and hasn’t secured a win since March 1st.

Genoa’s win was well-earned, as they were the more aggressive team throughout the match. However, there were tense moments at the end, including a disallowed goal by Rui Modesto and Pafundi’s protests over a potential foul in the box. After their loss to Juventus, Genoa is back on track, while Udinese faces their third consecutive defeat.

Fact, Genoa has not lost to Udinese in their last six Serie A encounters, recording two victories and four draws, with their last two matches resulting in wins. The only time Genoa has managed to secure three consecutive victories against Udinese in the league was during a five-match streak from 1993 to 2008.

Genoa gained the advantage in the 77th minute when Alessandro Zanoli found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the upper center. Ekuban, after receiving a pass from Freundrup, made a run down the left side. His cross was deflected by Okoye, allowing Zanoli to capitalize on the rebound and score.

  Stats before the game:

Genoa has managed to keep a clean sheet in four out of their last five Serie A encounters with Udinese, matching the number of times they achieved this in their previous 24 meetings in the league. Udinese enjoyed a streak of six matches without a loss (4 wins, 2 draws) but have recently suffered defeats in their last two Serie A games against Hellas Verona and Inter. Under Kosta Runjaic, they have only experienced three consecutive league losses once, which occurred between October and November 2024.

Buy Serie A tickets

Out of Udinese’s 11 victories this season, nine have been against teams that had fewer points at the start of the matchday. However, they recently lost to Verona in their latest such match. In the past five seasons, they have only faced back-to-back defeats against lower-ranked teams once, which happened last September against Roma and Inter.

Player Stats

Genoa’s forward Andrea Pinamonti has struggled recently, failing to score or assist in his last five league matches. However, he has found success against Udinese in Serie A, netting four goals against them, with one of those coming in the first leg. His highest tally in the league is five goals against Roma, and he has also scored four times against Bologna.

Udinese’s Oumar Solet celebrated his first Serie A goal in the most recent match. Since his debut on January 4, he has been the defender with the most successful dribbles, totaling 19. Additionally, he is among four defenders in the 2025 season who have recovered over 50 possessions and won more than 50 duels, achieving 56 in both categories, alongside Dodô, Theo Hernández, and today’s opponent Johan Vásquez, who has 60 recoveries and 77 duels won.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 2nd position with 61 points and a positive goal difference of +22
AC Milan, 9th position with 47 points and a positive goal difference of +11

A major showdown between Napoli and AC Milan.  Napoli won the Serie A Week 30 match on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, Italy.  The race for the Scudetto is intensifying! Napoli claimed three points after defeating Milan 2-1. They dominated the first half, scoring two goals, while Milan showed some fight in the second half but failed to convert a penalty by Santiago Gimenez. Luka Jovic did score a goal for Milan, but it wasn’t enough to level the match. Napoli now sits at 64 points, just behind Inter with 67 points, while Milan stays in 9th place with 47 points.

Every point is crucial for the Rossoneri if they aspire to qualify for European competition next season. The clock is ticking.

In a swift start, Napoli took the lead in the 2nd minute when Matteo Politano scored with a left-footed strike into the bottom right corner, thanks to an assist from Giovanni Di Lorenzo. The Milan defense was breached by the winger’s clever movement, and his powerful shot left Maignan with no chance to make a save.

Milan is in serious trouble! In the 19th minute, Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the center. The assist came from Billy Gilmour. This goal is particularly significant as it marks Lukaku’s 400th professional goal! Milan’s careless turnover allowed the Neapolitans to capitalize, with Gilmour setting up the striker in the box. Even though Lukaku’s shot wasn’t perfect, he managed to get it past Maignan. The score is now Napoli 2, Milan 0.

It wasn’t a great day for Milan. In the 69th minute, Santiago Giménez missed a penalty for @acmilan, as his left-footed attempt was saved by goalkeeper Alex Meret, who dove to the bottom right corner. The penalty was awarded after Philip Billing fouled Theo Hernández in the box.

Stats before the game

The last 12 Serie A encounters between Napoli and Milan have resulted in a perfect tie, with each team securing four victories and four draws. Prior to this, the Azzurri had an impressive record against the Rossoneri, remaining unbeaten in their last eight league matches, winning six of them.

Milan has not lost in their last six away games against Napoli across all competitions, recording three wins and three draws. Remarkably, they have never achieved seven consecutive away matches without defeat against the Azzurri in their entire history. As Napoli (61 points) prepares to face Milan (47 points), they hold a 14-point lead over their rivals. In the history of their top-flight encounters, the Azzurri have only faced the Rossoneri with a greater points advantage on three occasions: +15 on February 8, 2014, +25 on April 15, 2018, and +23 on April 2, 2023.

Napoli has faced more defeats against Roma (nine) than against Milan (eight, the same as against Inter) since returning from the national team break. In total, the Azzurri and the Rossoneri have clashed 18 times in these matches, resulting in five wins for Napoli, five draws, and eight victories for Milan.

Since early February, Napoli has struggled, remaining winless in six out of their last seven Serie A matches (5 draws, 1 loss). This is one more match without a win than they had in the first 22 games of the season (2 draws, 3 losses).

Additionally, with just eight points gained since the start of the 23rd matchday, Napoli currently ranks as the 13th best team in the league. Meanwhile, Milan has accumulated 47 points over 29 matchdays this season. Since Serie A expanded to 20 teams in 2004/05, only one team, Sampdoria in 2009/10, has finished in the top four after earning a maximum of 47 points with nine games left. Following their comeback wins against Lecce (3-2) and Como (2-1), Milan is aiming to secure three consecutive victories in Serie A for the first time since last September, when they achieved wins against Venezia, Inter, and Lecce under Paulo Fonseca’s management.

Player Stats

Romelu Lukaku has been a key player since his Serie A debut in the 2019/20 season, participating in eight goals (6 goals and 2 assists) in 818 minutes against Milan in all competitions, which translates to one goal or assist every 102 minutes. Among players in the top five European leagues, only Lautaro Martínez has been involved in more goals against the Rossoneri during this time, with 10 contributions, but he has played 621 additional minutes compared to Lukaku, resulting in one contribution every 144 minutes.

Since arriving at the Rossoneri last season, Christian Pulisic has tallied 30 goals and 17 assists, making him one of just two Serie A players to reach at least 30 goals and 15 assists across all competitions, alongside Ademola Lookman, who boasts 35 goals and 15 assists.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 1st position with 64 points and a positive goal difference of +38
Udinese, 10th position with 40 points and a negative goal difference of -4

Inter is set to compete in a sprint race after winning the Serie A Week 30 match on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milan, Italy.  Inter has reached a total of 67 points, now 6 points ahead of Napoli, who are set to face Milan soon. Meanwhile, Udinese remains at 40 points. Inter secured a victory in a match that showcased both teams’ strengths.

The Nerazzurri took control in the first half, scoring through Marko Arnautovic and Davide Frattesi, who also struck the post. The second half saw the Bianconeri narrow the gap with a goal from Solet, while Inzaghi was sent off for his protests.

Looking ahead, the next fixtures include Genoa vs. Udinese and Parma vs. Inter.

The game…

Inter took an early advantage in the 12th minute when Marko Arnautovic found the net with a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner. Federico Dimarco provided the assist. The home team is in front.  A play initiated and completed by the Austrian forward, with Dimarco setting him up for the winning goal.

In the 29th minute, Davide Fratesi found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom right corner, thanks to an assist from Federico Dimarco. The home team extended their advantage, replicating the first goal as Dimarco set up Frattesi once again for another precise right-footed strike.

In the 71st minute, Udinese closed the gap. Oumar Solet found the back of the net with a right-footed strike aimed at the top left corner. This goal reignited the match for Udinese. Solet made his way to the edge of the box and skillfully defeated goalkeeper Yann Sommer with a well-placed shot into the corner.

Stats before the game.

Inter has triumphed in their last four Serie A encounters with Udinese and is on the verge of matching their record of five straight wins against the Friulians.  A feat they have achieved three times in the league (from 1993 to 1996, 2008 to 2010, and 2015 to 2017).

Inter has also secured victories in their last six home games against Udinese in Serie A, boasting an impressive aggregate score of 16-2. This marks a new record for consecutive home wins for the Nerazzurri against the Bianconeri in the league. The last time Udinese celebrated a league win at the Meazza was on December 16, 2017, when they defeated Inter 3-1, with goals from Kevin Lasagna, Rodrigo De Paul, and Antonín Barák, while Mauro Icardi netted for the home side.

Buy Serie A tickets

Inter has achieved victories in their last four matches across all competitions.  This marks their best run since December 2024 to January 2025, when they won five consecutive games, including a 2-0 triumph over Udinese at the Meazza on December 19 in the Coppa Italia. With 64 points from 29 matches in this Serie A season, Inter has reached this milestone for the third time in four seasons under Simone Inzaghi’s management. This follows previous tallies of 60 points in 2021/22 and 76 points last season. Remarkably, they have matched the number of times they reached 60 or more points in the first 29 games over the last 12 seasons (60 in 2009/10, 64 in 2019/20, and 71 in 2020/21).

Udinese has gathered 40 points after 29 matchdays in this Serie A season. The last time they surpassed this mark after 30 games was in the 2012/13 season, when they finished with 42 points and ended the season in fifth place.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Fiorentina, 8th position with 48 points and a positive goal difference of +16
Atalanta, 3rd position with 58 points and a positive goal difference of +35

Fiorentina won the Serie A Week 30 match on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy.  Fiorentina has climbed to 51 points in the league standings, now matching Lazio’s score. Meanwhile, Atalanta remains at 58 points. This victory is significant for Fiorentina, as they are just one point behind Roma, who has 52 points. It’s certainly a letdown for Atalanta.

This game was crucial as both teams vie for important points; Fiorentina aims to close the gap on fourth place, which secures a spot in the Champions League, while Atalanta continues to chase their Scudetto dream.

In their last outings, Fiorentina triumphed over Juventus with a 3-0 victory, while Atalanta faced a 2-0 defeat against Inter. Their previous encounters have been high-scoring, with each team claiming a win, including a thrilling 3-2 match. After achieving five consecutive clean sheets in Serie A (3 wins, 2 draws), Atalanta suffered a 0-2 loss to Inter in their latest match. This could mark the first time since August and September that they concede at least two goals in back-to-back games, a streak that previously included four matches, two of which were against Inter (a 0-4 loss) and Fiorentina (a 3-2 win).

The game…

Fiorentina gained the upper hand in the 45th minute, just before the first half concluded. Moise Kean found the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. After stealing the ball from Hien in midfield, Kean sprinted forward and skillfully outmaneuvered Carnesecchi with a gentle touch.

✅  Stats before the game.

Fiorentina has achieved 53 victories against Atalanta in Serie A, making them the third team they have defeated the most, with a total of 123 encounters (D38, L32). They have more wins against Bologna (57) and Napoli (55) in the league. Interestingly, the most frequent scoreline in their past Serie A matches is 0-0, which has occurred 15 times.

However, the last time these two teams played to a scoreless draw was on March 5, 2017. In their last three matchups, a total of five goals have been scored in each game, with Fiorentina winning two of those 3-2 matches and Atalanta winning one.

Fiorentina is the team that Atalanta has encountered the most frequently following an international break in their Serie A history. The two clubs have met 22 times in top-flight matches during these periods, resulting in nine victories for Fiorentina, six for Atalanta, and seven matches ending in a draw. Fiorentina has triumphed in their last two games across all competitions, netting three goals in each match (3-1 against Panathinaikos in the UEFA Conference League and 3-0 against Juventus in Serie A). This season, they have scored a total of 75 goals in 40 matches, averaging 1.88 goals per game, which is the highest for the club since the 1960s.

Following Fiorentina 1-0 win over Lecce and the 3-0 victory against Juventus, Fiorentina has the chance to achieve three consecutive home wins while maintaining a clean sheet in Serie A for the first time under Raffaele Palladino. The last time this occurred was in December 2023 when Vincenzo Italiano was the head coach.
