Salernitana are motivated after leaving the last position and climbing to the 18th position with three precious points thus relaunching the hopes of salvation.  Salernitana win the Serie A Week 34 game defeating Fiorentina on Sunday 24 April 2022 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy.   This is a tough loss for Fiorentina slowing down their battle for a spot in the Europa League next season becoming difficult.   A prestigious victory for Salernitana winning for the first time in Serie A three consecutive games.

This victory allows Salernitana to reach 25 points in the standings and approach the 16th and 17th place occupied by Sampdoria and Cagliari. Fiorentina, on the other hand, remains at 56.

Salernitana win their first home game in Serie A since  October 2nd (1-0 v Genoa. Salernitana defeated Fiorentina 2-1 with Milan Djuric scoring in the 9th minute unlocking the result.  Fiorentina equalized in the 64th minute with Riccardo Saponara. The winning goal arrived for Salernitana in the 79th minute with Federico Bonazzoli.  Third consecutive victory for Salernitana while Fiorentina interrupted their three successes in a row.

In the next round Salernitana will play the away game against Atalanta and Fiorentina will play away from home against AC Milan (there will be the recovery game with Udinese).

Previously, Coach Davide Nicola has faced Fiorentina 8 times as a coach in Serie A, achieving only one win (with Crotone on 29 October 2017).  Hence, the importance for Nicola with this second victory.  Nicola coaching Salernitana is unbeaten in his last four games against Fiorentina, thanks to that win, followed by three draws (with Udinese, Genoa and Torino).

✅   Fiorentina have won three of their five games against Salernitana in Serie A.
Fiorentina have won their last three Serie A matches against newly-promoted teams without conceding a goal: the Viola have not enjoyed a longer clean sheet streak against such opponents in the competition since 1996 (four, with Claudio Ranieri).   Fiorentina have won their last three league games and haven’t recorded a longer winning streak since April 2018 (six with Stefano Pioli) – the Viola could also keep clean sheets in two consecutive Serie A games for the first time this season, after the 1-0 against Venezia.
Fiorentina haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last 12 Serie A away games: the last time they recorded a longer such streak away from home dates back to a run between November 2009 and October 2010 (16).

Technically, we might say that Hellas Verona and Sampdoria are saved ending the Serie A Week 34 game with a draw on Saturday 23 April 2022 at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium in Verona, Italy.  The former Sampdoria player Gianluca Caprari replies to Francesco Caputo’s goal, the two teams share a point more useful to the Sampdoria, in a race with poor technical content. Torino win the Serie A Week 34 game defeating Spezia on Saturday 23 April 2022 at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium in Turin, Italy.  Torino returns to win at home after a fast of over three months obtaining their fourth consecutive useful result.  Excellent performance of the men of Ivan Juric, good at controlling the operations from the transformation of Lukic’s penalty up to the end.  Manaj realizes the penalty for Spezia at the end but it is too late to try to straighten the game.

In the next round, Spezia will face Lazio at home while Torino will visit Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.

Torino opened the score in the 4th minute.  Sasa Lukic defeated Spezia goalkeeper Ivan Provedel converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.  The penalty is conceded by Martin Erlic after a foul on Antonio Sanabria.

It’s all Torino rocking with a brace by Sasa Lukic! Lukic increased the score for the 2-0 with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner following a corner conceded by Dimitrios Nikolaou.

Spezia scored the honor goal in the 96th minute. Rey Manaj defeated Torino goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the top left corner.   The penalty is conceded by Koffi Djidji after a foul on Manaj.

Spezia are unbeaten in three Serie A games against Torino, thanks to 2 wins and 1 draw .  Torino could become the second team to remain winless in four games against Spezia in the competition (after Cagliari).  Torino are the only team against which Spezia have kept more than one a clean sheet in Serie A: two clean sheets for the Ligurians, who have conceded only one goal against the Granata (Andrea Belotti on May 15, 2021).  After the goalless draw against Milan and 1-1 draw with Lazio, Torino could draw three consecutive Serie A games for the first time since February 2021: five in a row on that occasion.  Torino drew 0-0 against Milan in their last home league game: they last failed to score in successive home matches in November 2019, against Juventus and Inter.
