Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
Bologna, 13th position with 38 points and a negative goal difference of -10
Udinese, 12th position with 39 points and a negative goal difference of -3

Bologna and Udinese ended the Serie A Week 34 with a draw on Sunday 24 April 2022 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. In the standings, Bologna reach to 39 points and Udinese to 40. On Wednesday, recoveries are played: Fiorentina-Udinese and Bologna-Inter. Bologna and Udinese share the stakes: the rossoblu are ahead with Hickey, a Juventus comeback signed by Udogie and Success, 2 to 2 definitive by Samson.

A draw sharing one point each seeing both teams saved. The two teams don’t have to worry about what’s going on behind them and can therefore focus on their future starting from the present. Precisely for this reason the starting 11 are not experimental: despite the defections, the desire to win is strong on both sides. Bologna starts strong, and on a ball recovered in the middle of the field finds the advantage with Hickey, freed from Svanberg in the area and good at crossing the left for the post-goal that is worth the momentary 1 to 0. Finally, it is the 2 to 2 goal that will be the final score.

Stats before the game.  The last four Serie A meetings between Bologna and Udinese have ended in a draw (three times 1-1): these two teams have never drawn five games in a row in the top-flight.  Bologna have won only three of their last 20 games against the Udinese (D8 L9) with their last win on September 30th 2018 (2-1 at Dall’Ara).  Bologna are on a three-game unbeaten run (W1 D2), last going four without defeat in Serie A was in February 2021 (two wins and two draws).  Bologna have achieved seven clean sheets at Dall’Ara in Serie A this season: they haven’t done better in a single Serie A season since the 10 kept in 1999/2000 (nine by Gianluca Pagliuca and one by Paolo Orlandoni).

👉 Lineup Bologna (3-5-2): Bardi; Bonifazi, Binks, Theate; De Silvestri, Soriano, Dominguez, Svanberg, Hickey; Orsolini, Barrow.

👉 Udinese (3-5-2): Silvestri; Becao, Pablo Marí, Perez; Molina, Arslan, Walace, Makengo, Udogie; Success, Deulofeu.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 3rd position with 67 points and a positive goal difference of +32
Empoli, 14th position with 34 points and a negative goal difference of -18

Napoli living a nightmare losing the Serie A Week 34 game against Empoli on Sunday 24 April 2022 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy.  Napoli suffered amnesia for 7 minutes while Empoli after being down by two goals scored 3 goals in 7 minutes.   Empoli crushed Napoli’s hope slowing down their race for the Scudetto.  Empoli celebrating this important home victory, previously, without a victory in their previous 16 league games before Napoli’s visit. Three gold points and pure heart.

Simply put, the party at the Castellani is all for Empoli fans delighted with this prestigious victory believing until the end. Napoli took a 0-2 lead up to 80 minutes thanks to goals from Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne. Then, the “amnesia moment,” with Liam Henderson shortens the distance in the 80th minute due to a mistake by Malcuit, Napoli goes into difficulty and suffers the pressure of Empoli. In the 83rd minute, Andrea Pinamonti defeated goalkeeper Meret and amazingly “an inspiring moment for Pinamonti” scoring the winning goal after four minutes in the 87th minute. Napoli crumbled! Is there an explanation for this defeat? Just Empoli’s hunger for victory.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Cagliari, 17th position with 28 points and a negative goal difference of -30
Genoa, 19th position with 22 points and a negative goal difference of -30

Genoa win the Serie A Week 34 game defeating Cagliari on Sunday 24 April 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genoa, Italy.   The third consecutive victory of Salernitana in a week has revolutionized the low ranking, even Cagliari therefore cannot be considered calm.  At the last breath after a very tense and complicated match, Genoa puts their heads out and gives themselves the three precious points with Badelj’s goal. Cagliari, which held up the whole match, even hitting a post with Joao Pedro, was defeated. Salvation race reopened.

Surely, a precious home victory of Genoa.  There are only three points that separate the teams. Even Sampdoria remains entangled, finding themselves at 30 points and in the next round the derby of the Lanterna will be staged against Sampdoria, while Cagliari will host Hellas Verona.

Genoa opened the score in the 89th minute. It is Milan Badelj to defeat Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Kelvin Yeboah.

Stats before the game:   Genoa have won their last four games against Cagliari in Serie A, keeping a clean sheet on three occasions.   Indeed, this is already a record streak for them against Cagliari in the top-flight and in general, Genoa have collected two of their last three Serie A wins (including one of only two in this campaign) against Cagliari.  In the last six Serie A home games against Cagliari, Genoa have collected five wins and one draw: the last Sardinian success at Ferraris against Grifone dates back to April 19th 2014 (1-2 with goals from De Maio, Sau and Ibarbo).    Despite suffering three defeats in the last three matchdays, Alexander Blessin is the Genoa manager who in this championship has maintained the highest points per game average (0.91 per match, with 10 points in 11 games): since he has been with the Grifone, as many as six Serie A teams have collected fewer points than the Ligurians.  With the win against Sassuolo, Cagliari have reached 18 points in this second part of the Serie A season (W5 D3 L6): considering points won in 2022 only, they would be in 11th position (+9 points above the relegation zone).

👉 Lineup GENOA (4-2-3-1): Sirigu – Frendrup, Ostigard, Bani, Vasquez – Badelj, Sturaro – Amiri, Galdames, Portanova – Ekuban.

👉 Lineup CAGLIARI (3-5-2): Cragno; Altare, Ceppitelli, Carboni; Bellanova, Deiola, Grassi, Marin, Dalbert; Joao Pedro, Keita.
