Serie A Standing BEFORE the game
Sampdoria, 20th  position with 3 points and a negative goal difference of -13
Cremonese, 19th position with 4 points and a negative goal difference of -12

Cremonese lost the Serie A Week 11 game against Sampdoria on Monday 24 October 2022 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy. Sampdoria win their first game this season conquering the Zini Stadium. Sad for Cremonese still without victory. Sour defeat because Cremonese had the chance to score though Dessers missing the penalty in the first half. The party is for Sampdoria to see the light at the end of the tunnel for salvation thanks to the goal by Colley. The victory helped Sampdoria to climb from the 20th to the 18th position while Cremonese stepped down to the last position.

Things started bad for Cremonese. Referee Fabio Maresca gave a penalty to Cremonese. The cold shower arrived in the 7th minute when  Cyriel Dessers failed to convert the penalty because Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero saved it in the center.  The penalty is conceded by Bruno Amione after a foul on David Okereke.

Sampdoria opened the score in the 78th minute. Omar Colley defeated Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi from very close range with a left-footed shot to the center. The headed assist is by Manolo Gabbiadini.

✅   Stats before the game: Sampdoria remained unbeaten in 11 of the 12 matches against Cremonese in Serie A (6W, 5D), obtaining six clean sheets – including the one in the most recent match on January 28, 1996 (2-0 by the Sampdoria at Ferraris). In five of the six matches between Cremonese and Sampdoria at the home of the grigiorossi in Serie A at least one of the two teams did not score (one home win, three draws and two away wins); including 0-0 in the most recent one on September 10, 1995.  Cremonese may not win any of its first 11 Serie A matches of the season for the first time in its history; considering the first 10 matches, only in 1995/96 previously he had not achieved any success in the tournament (4N, 6P in 2022/23). Cremonese have lost their last two games at Zini in the league: the grigiorossi have never recorded three home defeats in a row in Serie A.

Roma have not won any of their last 12 home matches against teams that occupied the top four positions in the Serie A standings (7N, 5P) at the beginning of the day, losing all three most recent. The last home win against these opponents dates back to 12 May 2019 with Claudio Ranieri on the bench (2-0 v Juventus). Roma have won the last three league matches, with José Mourinho the Giallorossi have never recorded four consecutive Serie A wins, the last time being in August 2020 with Paulo Fonseca at the helm.
