Fiorentina win the Serie A Week 25 game on Saturday 4 March 2023 at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. Fiorentina crushed Milan’s hope to grab the second position. The victory is thanks to a penalty kick from Nicolás González and a goal from Luka Jović (replaced Cabral) Fiorentina beat Milan 2-1 and won their first big match of the season. Theo Hernandez scored the goal in full stoppage time. Pioli, who introduced Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the second half, is losing ground in the standings. The Rossoneri remain within one of Lazio, the second in the championship behind Napoli.

Fiorentina opened the score in the 49th minute. Nicolás González defeated AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan converting a penalty with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Fikayo Tomori after a foul on Jonathan Ikoné.

Fiorentina increased the score in the 87th minute with a goal by Luka Jović.

AC Milan shortened the distance in the 95th minute. French forward Theo Hernández defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Alexis Saelemaekers.

✅  Stats before the game.  Milan have scored in eight consecutive games against Fiorentina in Serie A; only once have the Rossoneri recorded a longer streak against Viola in the history of the competition: 10 in a row between 1947 and 1951. Fiorentina have won only three of their last 16 Serie A home games (D6 L7) against Milan, however managing to take all three points from last season’s match (4-3, a match which saw Zlatan’s last brace Ibrahimovic in the competition). Fiorentina come to this match from 3-0 against Verona; Viola could achieve back-to-back Serie A successes without conceding a goal for the first time since January 2020, on that occasion against SPAL and Napoli. Considering all competitions, Milan have won their last four matches without conceding a goal; only four times in its history, the AC Milan team has scored five wins in a row with ‘clean sheets’: in 1964, in 2003, in 2017 and most recently in 2018 with Gennaro Gattuso.

Juventus conquered the 156th Derby della Mole after winning the Serie A Week 24 defeating Torino on Tuesday 28 February 2023 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Italy. Juventus win the derby by recovering the disadvantage twice. After the draw at the end of the first half, the bianconeri moved forward with a goal by Bremer and a safety goal signed by Adrien Rabiot in the 80th minute. Allegri’s men secure their fourth consecutive victory and fly to 35 points climbing to the 7th place. Torino played a great first half, but decrease in intensity in the second half.

The highlight of the match included also the return of Paul Pogba while the match was still tied at 2-2.

Torino scored the first goal in the 2nd minute.  Yann Karamoh defeated Juventus goalkeeper from very close range with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Alessandro Buongiorno following a corner conceded by .Alex Sandro.

In the next round, Torino will play at home against Bologna while Juventus will visit AS Roma.

What a thriller!  The unthinkable happened. Cremonese who were in the last position defeated AS Roma on Tuesday 28 February 2023 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy. Cremonese have reasons to celebrate enjoying the feeling of a victory in Serie A after 26 years. The last victory in Serie A was on March 31, 1996 (Padova 1-3Cremonese).  This is the first victory of the season for Cremonese, and what a prestigious win,  striking an important blow in terms of salvation. Spezia with eight points but last place left to Sampdoria. Rome suffered the physicality of the opponent and struggled to create goals. Spinazzola’s goal was good, but there were few other real dangers for Carnesecchi. Advantage of Tsadjout, the equalizer of Spinazzola, to decide the penalty scored by Ciofani after the foul by Rui Patricio on Okereke.

Cremonese climbed from the 20th to the 19th position with 12 points.  Sampdoria are now in the last position with 11 points.

Cremonese delighted the fans with the opening goal in the 17th minute. Frank Tsadjout defeated AS Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio with a left-footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Emanuele Valeri.

The situation went out of hand for the Roman gladiators. Coach Jose Mourinho was sent off in the 46th minute.

Roma equalized in the 71st minute. Leonardo Spinazzola defeated Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Gianluca Mancini.

Cremonese scored the winner goal in the 83rd minute. Daniel Ciofani converted a penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The feeling of the goal experienced not only by Ciofani but all the fans in the Stadium.

Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 24 RESULTS / Twenty-fourth Round on Saturday 25, Sunday 26, Monday 27, and Tuesday 28 February 2023.   Napoli are in the 1st position with 65 points and having a +18 lead over Inter in the 2nd position with 47 points and AC Milan also with 47 points.  Definitely, Napoli can almost grab the Scudetto with such an advantage.

First victory of the season in A for Cremonese defeating AS Roma. Cremonese leave the last place in the standings by overtaking Sampdoria. It was since 31 March 1996 (2-1 success in Padua) that the Grigiorossi hadn’t obtained three points in Serie A.

AC Milan survived the pressure and win the Serie A Week 24 game on Sunday 26 February 2023 at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Milan won the direct clash with Atalanta, achieved their fourth consecutive victory without conceding a goal between Serie A and the Champions League and regained second position in the standings, reaching Inter on 47 points. Second consecutive defeat, after the one at home against Lecce, for the Goddess who, in the event of a victory for Roma on Tuesday in Cremona, would find themselves six lengths away from the Champions League zone.

A goal in each half for the Rossoneri dominating the match without giving Atalanta any chances. In the first 45 minutes, the advantage of Pioli’s team comes with the first shot on goal: in the 25th minute Theo Hernandez collects a bank from Giroud by volleying with his left foot. The ball slams first on the post and then on Musso’s back, ending up in the back of the net. In the second half, Milan consolidate the goal that keeps them ahead by creating many chances, with Musso decisive on the conclusions of Giroud and Leao, and with the Portuguese again first and Messias then not too cold in front of goal. It is precisely the latter, however, who pack the goal of the final 2-0: in the 87th minute Leao launches the Brazilian deep, who burns on Palomino’s sprint and overcomes Musso’s desperate exit with a lob.

The game started with a bad luck for Atalanta. AC Milan took the lead in the 25th minute thanks to the own goal by goalkeeper Juan Musso. The initial action was organized by Giroud providing the assist to Theo Hernández, who hits the neck on the fly from outside the area. The Frenchman’s shot lands first on the post and then on the Argentine goalkeeper’s back, to finish his run at the back of the net.

A delightful game for the Rossoneri. In the 87th minute, the goal by Junior Messias with a left-footed shot to the center. The assist is by Rafael Leão.

✅     Stats before the game: Milan won 2-0 in their last home match against Atalanta in Serie A (15 May 2022), after a series of seven consecutive matches at the Meazza without beating the Bergamo players (D4, L3); the last Rossoneri coach able to win twice in a row against the Dea at home in two consecutive top leagues was even Fabio Capello (seasons 92/93 and 93/94).  AC Milan have won their last three matches in all competitions 1-0: the Rossoneri have never won four games in a row this season (last time in the season finale 21/22) and they are on a four-game winning streak without conceding a goal since February 2018 (five in that case, three in Serie A and two in the Europa League).  Milan have picked up just one point (D1, L3) in their last four games played against teams occupying the top six positions in the real standings. The last Rossoneri victory against this type of team dates back to the first leg derby against Inter ( 3-2 on September 3, 2022).  Atalanta have lost three of their last four matches in all competitions (W1), having recorded four wins and two draws in their first six matches of 2023; the Bergamo players won their last league match played away and haven’t achieved two wins in a row away from home in Serie A since September 2022 (four in that case).
