✅ Stats before the game: Verona won the first leg against Sampdoria, but they haven’t beaten the Sampdoria twice in a row in Serie A since 1972 and have never managed to win both matches against the Dorians in the same top division. Sampdoria have lost only one of their 26 Serie A home matches against Verona (0-1 on 30 December 1972 with a goal by Roberto Mazzanti): since that knockout in 20 games only six draws and no less than 14 wins for the blucerchia, including the last ones five in chronological order (in all of these five the Dorians have always scored at least two goals). Challenge between the two teams with fewer points than in the first 26 days of last championship, among those present in both Serie A 21/22 and 22/23: Sampdoria have 14 points less, Hellas Verona 18. Sampdoria went 10 consecutive league games without a win (D3 L7): the last Blucerchiati coach to go 11 Serie A games in a row without a win was Walter Novellino (17 between February and September 2006). Sampdoria is the only team in the top 10 European championships 2022/23 not to have won at home yet (D4 L9), the one that has scored the fewest home goals (three), which has collected the most home games without scoring (10) and the one that has collected the fewest points in home games (four, same score as the Austrians Wolfsberger).
👉 Lineup SAMPDORIA (3-4-2-1): Turk; Gunter, Nuytinck, Amione; Zanoli, Winks, Cuisance, Augello; Leris, Djuricic; Gabbiadini
👉 Lineup HELLAS VERONA (3-4-2-1): Montipò; Dawidowicz, Coppola, Magnani; Faraoni, Duda, Tameze, Doig; Braaf, Lazovic; Djuric
