👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 6th position with 58 points and a positive goal difference of +15
Salernitana, 15th position with 35 points and a negative goal difference of -14

Atalanta suffered a big flop failing to win the Serie A Week 35 game on Saturday 13 May 2023 at the Arechi Stadium in Salerno, Italy.  In the first half, Atalanta went close to scoring several times with Zapata, a protagonist of at least three goals. In the second half, however, it is Salernitana who becomes more dangerous, in the final Candreva enters and it is he who draws the joker who is worth the three points. If Spezia does not beat Milan, it would be arithmetic salvation for Salernitana players. Atalanta is further and further away from the Champions area!

Atalanta lost the last round of the championship against Juventus without finding a way to score; the last time the Bergamo players suffered two knockouts in a row without scoring in Serie A dates back to the last two games of the last tournament, against Milan and Empoli.

Salernitana scored the winner goal in the 93rd minute. Antonio Candreva defeated Atalanta goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Krzysztof Piatek.

✅   Stats before the game: Between Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia, Salernitana has not won any of the 14 matches played so far against Atalanta: seven wins for the players from Bergamo, including the one in the first leg match (8-2) last January, and seven draws on partial budget. The first leg ended 8-2 for Atalanta: that was both the match in which the granatas conceded the most goals in a single Serie A match, and the match in which the orobics scored the most goals in one match in their history in the top tournament.  Salernitana lost their last league match against Empoli (1-2), thus interrupting a series of 10 consecutive useful results (W2, D8) and could suffer two defeats in a row in Serie A for the first time under the management by Paulo Sosa. After three consecutive defeats, Salernitana are on a positive streak from five league games at Arechi – two wins and three draws in the period – in the era of three points for a win (since 1994/95), the grenades have never collected more home games without knockouts with the same coach in the top tournament.

Salernitana: Ochoa, Daniliuc, Lovato, Pirola, Mazzocchi, Coulibaly, Vilhena, Bradaric, Botheim, Dia, Piatek.

Atalanta: Sportiello, Toloi, Djimsiti, Scalvini, Soppy, de Roon, Éderson, Zappacosta, Koopmeiners, Pašalić, Zapata.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lecce, 16th position with 31 points and a negative goal difference of -13
Lazio, 3rd position with 64 points and a positive goal difference of +26

Lazio failed to win the Serie A Week 35 on Friday 12 May 2023 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. The match between Lazio and Lecce ends 2-2, with many emotions. Gabriel Strefezza didn’t convert a penalty in the 23rd minute for Lecce. Hope for Lazio to arrive with the goal by Ciro Immobile unlocking the result in the 34th minute. More excitement a the Olimpico when Lecce made a comeback with a brace from Oudin. Milinkovic-Savic equalized in the 94th minute saving at least 1 point for Lazio.

In the next round, Lazio will play away against Udinese, Lecce will play at home against Spezia. Lazio have suffered three defeats in their last four league games. Lecce have lost their last five away games.  Lazio’s objective is to return to the second position being -2 points below Juventus with 66 points while Lecce need the victory to be away from the relegation area.

Lecce had the chance to open the score in the 23rd minute. Referee Fabio Maresca gave a penalty to Lecce conceded by Elseid Hysaj. Yet, Gabriel Strefezza missed the penalty.

Lazio opened the score in teh 34th minute. Forward Ciro Immobile defeated Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone with a left footed shot to the center. The assist is by Luis Alberto.

A thriller first half ending with Lecce equalizing in the 45+2 minute. Remi Oudin defeated Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel with a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Valentin Gendrey.

There is a cold shower for Lazio in the 51st minute. Lecce took the lead with the goal by Remi Oudin with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Gabriel Strefezza.

Lazio equalized in the 95th minute to grab a point. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scored with a headed shot to the bottom left corner.

✅     Stats before the game: After four useful results in a row (W3, D1), Lazio have lost their last two Serie A matches against Lecce; however, of the eight defeats suffered by the biancocelesti in the 31 matches played so far against the Salento team, only one has come at the Olimpico: the one 1-2, in January 2011 (goal by Mauri for the capitolini; own goal by Muslera and center by Grossmüller instead for the Giallorossi). In the 15 Serie A matches staged at the Olimpico between Lazio and Lecce, the Biancocelesti have only been without goals in one match in the partial: the first of the series, dated 30 April 1989 (0-0); since then, 35 goals scored against the Giallorossi, for an average of 2.5 per game.  After a string of seven wins and one draw, Lazio suffered three defeats in their last four league matches (W1): as many knockouts as those put together by the biancocelesti in the 18 previous Serie A matches between matchday 13 and matchday 30. Lazio did not find the goal in the last round of the championship; only once under Maurizio Sarri’s management has the Capitoline team been without goals for two consecutive matches in Serie A: in November 2021, against Juventus and Napoli. Lecce have won only twice in 32 away matches against the two teams from the capital in the top tournament: in the first match played against Roma in April 1986 (with Eugenio Fascetti on the bench) and in the one in January 2011 against Lazio (2- 1, Luigi De Canio as coach). Lecce have lost their last five league away games, after winning the previous two; the last time Salento had more consecutive defeats away from home in Serie A dates back to October-December 2010 (six in that case).

Empoli won the Serie A Week 34 defeating Salernitana on Monday 8 May 2023 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy. The Tuscans repeated the success in Bologna thanks to a goal in time: Nicolò Cambiaghi and Francesco Caputo scored, both on an assist from Ebuehi who also hit the crossbar. Euro-goal canceled in Pjaca. Late reaction of the grenades who grow in the second half but shorten the result only in the final with Krzysztof Pjatek and waste with Mazzocchi in full recovery.

On the thirty-fifth day, Zanetti’s boys will be the protagonists of the postponement at Samp while Paulo Sousa’s team will host Atalanta.

Stats before the game: The balance between Empoli and Salernitana is in perfect balance in Serie A, thanks to one win for each side and three draws; in these meetings, neither team managed to keep a clean sheet. Salernitana are unbeaten in two away matches against Empoli in Serie A (W1, D1); both teams found the goal in these two matches (seven total goals: 3.5 per match). Salernitana have remained unbeaten in only two of their eight Serie A away games against Tuscan teams, exactly the two in the series played against Empoli: a 3-2 success on 14 February 1999 and a 1-1 draw on 14 May 2022 . Empoli have won all of their last three Serie A matches played on Monday, without conceding goals, it is the same number of victories they had achieved in all their previous 14 matches in the top flight on this day of the week (D4, L7); on the other hand, Salernitana ended four of the five matches played on Monday in the competition (1L). After the success against Bologna in the most recent match, Empoli could win two matches in a row in Serie A for the first time since last January (against Sampdoria and Inter in that case).

👉    Hello, my friends. Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 34 RESULTS / Thirty-fourth Round on Saturday 6, Sunday 7, and Monday 8 May 2023.

✅   Here is the situation: 👉🏆🇮🇹      Napoli won the 2022-23 Serie A Scudetto on Thursday 4 May 2023 after the 1-1 draw with Udinese.   Napoli are Italian champions with 5 rounds to spare: no team has ever done better in the history of Serie A.  Forward Victor Osimhen equaled George Weah (both 46 goals) as the 1st African top scorer in Serie A history.

We have another verdict.  After 11 seasons in Serie A, Sampdoria is arithmetically relegated to Serie B. With this defeat, Sampdoria remained at 17 points in the 20th position, 13 points away from the salvation quota which is now no longer reachable.

As reported by Lega Serie A, Victor Osimhen, 47th goal in Serie A, the first from the penalty spot in the competition.  Osimhen is now the African player to have scored the most goals in the Italian top division (surpassed George Weah with 46 goals).  Third penalty saved out of 14 faced by Pietro Terracciano in Serie A TIM, two of which against Napoli (today against Victor Osimhen and on 16 May 2021 at the Franchi against Lorenzo Insigne).

Lazio have not made a single shot on target in a Serie A match for the first time since October 2020 (against Sampdoria).

Inter have won three consecutive away games without conceding a goal in Serie A TIM for the first time since December 2021 (against Venice, Rome and Salernitana).

Roma have not won any of their last 13 Serie A TIM matches in which they have conceded a goal (D6, L7).

La Cremonese has found the net in all of the last four home games of the tournament for the first time since April 1996 (four in that case too).

Cremonese have won six of their last seven home games against Spezia between Serie B and Coppa Italia (D1), keeping clean sheets in all of the last six.

Juventus have won 22 games without conceding in all competitions 22/23: among the teams in the top five European tournaments, considering all competitions, only Barcelona (25) and Manchester United (23) have done better than the black and whites.

Against no team has Vlahovic scored more goals in Serie A TIM than against Atalanta: five, of which three in Bergamo.

Antonio Sanabria is the first Torino player to score in three straight home games in Serie A TIM since Andrea Belotti in July 2020 (four home games in goals).

Gianluca Caprari has scored five of his last six away Serie A TIM goals.

Verona won their first away game of this championship; the previous away success in Serie A TIM dated 30 April 2022 at Cagliari (1-2).

Verona have won all of their last four Serie A TIM matches played against Lecce; against no other team in the tournament, the Gialloblù boast a longer open streak of consecutive successes (four also against Venezia).

Tyronne Ebuehi provided two assists in the match against Salernitana: the last Empoli defender to provide two winning passes in a single Serie A match was Manuel Pasqual (vs Crotone on 12 September 2016).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 20th position with 17 points and a negative goal difference of -39
Udinese, 12th position with 43 points and a positive goal difference of +2

A sour defeat for Sampdoria losing the Serie A Week 34 game against Udinese on Monday 8 May 2023 at the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy. After 11 seasons in Serie A, Sampdoria is arithmetically relegated to Serie B. With this defeat, Sampdoria remained at 17 points in the 20th position, 13 points away from the salvation quota which is now no longer reachable.

Udinese, on the other hand, with these three points rises to 46, catching up with Fiorentina, Torino, and Monza in the standings. This is the 11th success in the league for Sottil’s team who returned to winning ways at the Dacia Arena after last Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Napoli.

Udinese claimed the victory thanks to goals from Roberto Pereyra and Adam Masina. Udinese condemned the Sampdoria to the arithmetic relegation. Samp tried to build in an orderly manner but some inaccuracies and Udinese’s high pressing didn’t always allow Stankovic’s team to become dangerous. The guests’ few chances came from Quagliarella, Zanoli, and above all Gabbiadini who hit the post in the second half. Sixth home win in this championship for the bianconeri.

In the next round of the championship, Udinese will be involved in the away match against Fiorentina, while Sampdoria will return to Marassi and host Empoli.

Udinese opened the score in the 9th minute. Roberto Pereyra defeated Sampdoria goalkeeper Nicola Ravaglia with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Festy Ebosele.

Udinese scored again in the 33rd minute. Adam Masina scored with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Sandi Lovric

Sampdoria Coach Dejan Stankovic ….. sad look…. goodbye Serie A.
