Hello, my friends. Here are the 2022-2023 Italian Serie A Week 28 RESULTS / Twenty-eighth Round on Saturday 1, Sunday 2, and Monday 3 April 2023.
The big clash between Napoli and AC Milan is all RED AND BLACK at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The astonishing victory relaunches Milan and takes them to 51 points in third place +1 over Inter. Milan scored a poker without conceding a goal silencing the fans. Yet, Napoli remain the sole leaders with 71 points with a large margin, +16, on the second place now occupied by Lazio.
Surely, AC Milan passed “this test” with flying colors ahead of their next Champions League Quarterfinals match. Before Milan, the last team capable of scoring four away goals against the top team at the start of the day in Serie A was Fiorentina, against Inter on 27 September 2015 (4-1).
Napoli have lost two of their last three Serie A TIM home games (W1), as many knockouts as in their previous 20 home matches in the competition.
Tough week for Inter losing their third consecutive game defeated by Fiorentina at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium. Inter also lost the third position stepping down to the 4th position.
The good moment is for Lazio to consolidate second place by moving to +5 on third-placed Inter and seven points ahead of fifth-placed Atalanta. On the other hand, Monza loses again after three games, but still maintains a fifteen-point lead over the relegation zone.
It was since September 1991 that Atalanta hadn’t conquered the Cremonese field in Serie A (2-1 on that occasion); since then, five draws and one loss.
Ademola Lookman is the debutant who has scored the most goals this season: 13 (12 at Kvaratskhelia). The last Atalanta player to score at least 13 goals on his Serie A debut at this point in the season was Poul Rasmussen in 1952/53.
Vincenzo Italiano surpassed 100 points in Serie A TIM as Fiorentina coach (102), winning his first challenge as manager against Inter in the Italian top division.
Giacomo Bonaventura had not scored a header in Serie A TIM since January 2018, again at the Meazza, with the Milan shirt against Lazio.
For the first time in their history, Juventus won three consecutive matches in Serie A against Verona keeping clean sheets in each of them.
Verona’s streak of away matches in Serie A TIM without wins extends to 15 (D6, L9) – The Verona side have not recorded so many since March 2016 (series of 17 in the circumstance).
It was since February 2012 – with Pioli on the bench – that Bologna hadn’t closed three home matches in a row without conceding a goal.
After 168 days Musa Barrow found his goal again in Serie A TIM: he hadn’t succeeded since 16 February 2022 against Napoli.
Goal number 65 with the Lazio shirt for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic counting all competitions: the midfielder has become the foreign player with the most goals in the history of the biancoceleste club.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s goal is Monza’s first conceded at home from outside the box in this Serie A TIM season.
With the draw against Salernitana, Spezia have collected exactly 100 points in their history in Serie A (including results obtained by default and excluding penalties).
Antonio Candreva today hooked Franco Causio (460 appearances) in 30th position among the most present all-time players in the history of Serie A.
This is the seventh season in which Paulo Dybala has scored at least 10 goals and provided at least five assists in SerieA TIM: since 2004/05, only three players have recorded seven league titles with 10+ goals and 5+ assists: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Antonio Di Natale and Francesco Totti.
Georginio Wijnaldum has scored in back-to-back home games in Europe’s big five for the first time since March 2017 (for Liverpool against Arsenal and Burnley).
