👉 Results from Serie A Week 12

Napoli keep the first position after crushing Sassuolo at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The motivation is high for Napoli after qualifying to the Champions League Round of 16. Napoli reached 32 points while Sassuolo remains at 15 points. Another victory for Napoli commanding the game in the first half and goes to the net with two goals from Victor Osimhen and one from Kvaratskhelia.  In the final, Osimhen added the cherry on top of the ice cream scoring a hat-trick.  In the next round, Napoli will go to Bergamo to visit Atalanta, while Sassuolo will host Empoli.

Torino with a prestigious victory against AC Milan at the Olimpico di Torino Stadium.  This is a flop for AC Milan losing after 17 away games without a single defeat (W12, D5), stopping the longest open run in the Big-5 European Leagues. Torino climbed from the 10th to the 9th place with 17 points. Milan remained with 26 points stepping down from the 2nd to the 3rd position overtaken by Atalanta. In the next round, Milan-Spezia and Bologna-Torino. Torino beat Milan by capitalizing on the two goals by Koffi Djidji and Aleksey Miranchuk gained in the first half of the game. In the second half, Junior Messias shortens the distance for the final 2 to 1.

The redemption moment for Juventus after their Champions League elimination. Juventus win -though not convincing- against Lecce at the Via Del Mare Stadium. Fagioli with a pearl from the edge gives the three points to the bianconeri; Hjulmand hits a post at the end. Lecce, still looking for their first home success after four draws in a row between the friendly wall.  In the thirteenth round, Baroni’s boys will be protagonists of the advance against Udinese while Allegri’s team will face Inter.

Inter continue their good moment after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and defeating Sampdoria at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.  Inter with the fourth consecutive victory. De Vrij headed in the 21st minute unlocks the result. Barella signs the doubling on an assist from Bastoni in the 44th minute. In the second half, Joaquín Correa sealed the game.  In the next round, Inter will play the away game against Juventus, Sampdoria will play at home against Fiorentina.

Atalanta defeated Empoli at the Carlo Castellani Stadium.   Atalanta return to win after the knockout collected at the hands of Lazio, detaching the Biancocelesti (on the field at 18) and Inter, less than five from Napoli with 32 points in the 1st place. Second consecutive defeat, however, for Empoli, which remains in twelfth place, but risks being overtaken by two between Bologna, Monza, Fiorentina and Spezia.

Cremonese and Udinese ended with a goalless draw at the Giovanni Zini Stadium. Cremonese remained in the last position with 5 points.  It is the fourth game without a win for Udinese which slips to eighth place, reached by Juventus.  In the next round, Cremonese will play the away game against Salernitana, while Udinese will take the field on their own pitch against Lecce.

Lazio living a nightmare night crushed by Salernitana.   Contrariwise, it’s a dream night for Salernitana conquering the Olimpico  Stadium. Nicola’s team, after ending the first half at a disadvantage due to Mattia Zaccagni’s goal, overturns the result in the second half. The equalizer was scored by the former Biancoceleste Antonio Candreva, while the ‘trick’ was served by the former Roma player Fazio inside the area. The trio arrives on the counterattack, with a now frayed Lazio, thanks to Dia on an assist from Bradaric.

Hellas Verona lost against AS Roma at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  Roma regained success and climbed from the 8th to 4th place at 25 points, overtaking Inter and Lazio. After the first half ended in a draw with Verona already in ten due to the expulsion of Dawidowicz, Mourinho’s team resolved the match at the end with goals from Volpato and Stephan El Shaarawy. This is the 7th consecutive defeat for Hellas Verona.

Bologna defeated Monza at the  U-Power Stadium. Monza collapsed after the winner goal by Riccardo Orsolini who scores his first goal in the league. Bologna takes home three points that weigh like a boulder in the battle for salvation: Monza took the lead with the penalty scored by Andrea Petagna, two minutes pass and Ferguson equalizes after Posch’s excellent throw.

The last matches between Monza and Bologna date back to Serie C1 (Group A) of the 1994/95 season: 0-1 in Brianza in the first leg match, 1-1 in Emilia in the return leg; if we consider Serie B, on the other hand, the last match dates back to 13 June 1993, Bologna’s 2-1 victory at Monza. Between Serie B, Serie C and the Italian Cup, Monza’s last home win against Bologna was on 23 August 1992 in the Italian Cup: 1-0 after extra time with Delpiano’s goal.
