Monza and Lazio ended the Serie A Week 35 game with a draw on Saturday 4 May 2024 at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, Italy. Monza slows Lazio’s Champions League run, which stops after three consecutive victories and fails to overtake Atalanta. Tudor’s team therefore remains in seventh place, three points away from fifth place occupied by Roma, playing tomorrow evening against Juventus. This is the second consecutive draw, however, for Monza, which rises to 45 and failed to reach the tenth position occupied by Torino.
Lazio took the lead in the 11th minute. Forward Ciro Immobile defeated Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

✅ Stats before the game: After losing both of their first two matches against Lazio in Serie A without scoring, Monza drew 1-1 in the first leg of this championship against the Biancocelesti on 23 September. Between Serie A and Serie B, Monza remained unbeaten in eight of the nine home games against Lazio (W4, D4), however the defeat came in their only previous match in the top division: 0-2, on 2 April 2023. With the draw in the last match against Lecce, Monza recorded a streak of five games in a row without a win in Serie A for the first time with Raffaele Palladino as coach (2D, 3P); more generally, only once have the Brianza team gone on a longer streak without success in the top championship: in their first six matches ever in the tournament. Monza have lost their last two games at the U-Power Stadium in the league (against Napoli and Atalanta), only between August and September 2022 have they suffered multiple home defeats in a row in Serie A (against Torino, Udinese and Atalanta in that case). Starting from the first match without Maurizio Sarri (16 March), Lazio is the team that has earned the most points in Serie A: 15 in six matches (5W, 1L), one more than Inter (14) .
