It is a flop, a disappointing result because Italy dominated and created several chances for goal.   Italy battled but the good goal never arrived.   Midfielder Riccardo Orsolini had a goal ruled out for offside.  The qualification for the next round is complicated and will be a must to win the next game against Belgium. Poland celebrated this historical victory because it was their first against Italy in a competitive Under-21 game. Things worked out for Poland becoming the second team to keep a clean sheet in the eighth match of this tournament. Previously, Austria defeated Serbia with a 2-0.

Let’s not dismay and keep supporting the Azzurrini to win the next game Italy vs Belgium on June 22. Poland will face Spain.

  • The UEFA Under-21 Championship Standing Group A after Matchday 2 sees Poland in the first position with 6 points and a positive goal difference of +2; Italy in the second position with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +1; Spain in the third position with 3 points and a negative goal difference of -1; and Belgium in the 4th position with 0 points and a negative goal difference of -2.
