It’s a redemption game AS Roma defeating Spain La Liga team  Real Madrid .  Real Madrid and AS Roma had lost their first games in Group A:  Manchester United 3 – 2 AS Roma and Real Madrid 1- 1 Inter Milan.   Great victory for Roma with leading Captain Francesco Totti scoring the only goal of the match delighting the fans.   Classic “No Totti No Party.”   We have the ex AC Milan coach and ex AS Roma player now coaching Real Madrid: Carlo Ancelotti.   You bet it was  an emotional game for Ancelotti and for Roma fans.

First half ending with a 0 – 0 goalless draw

AS Roma starts the second half with the same 11 players.

Rejoice!!!!!  In the 58th minute there it is the one and only CAPITAN Francesco Totti defeating Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez with a right footed shot running fast enough to smack  the ball in the bottom left corner!  Mamma mia.. grande!!!!!  Mitico!   The assist is by Alessandro Florenzi coming from the right side and there it was the Roman gladiator Totti ready to lead his gladiators.  NO TOTTI NO PARTY!!!!

The International Champions Cup Group A  seeing Manchester United defeating Inter Milan in penalty shoot outs.  Serie A team Inter and Premier League team Manchester United have won their first respective games:  Manchester United 3 – 2 AS Roma and Real Madrid 1- 1 Inter Milan.

Special game  for Inter Nemanja Vidic who was Manchester United Captain before his transfer.

10′ great save by Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic denying Phil Jones header by his left-hand post. even going down to keep the ball with both hands!!!!!  Defense must be alert….

Referee Edvin Jurisevic giving the first yellow card of the match in the 16th minute to Manchester United midfielder Antonio Valencia after a foul on Dodo’.

Good morning my friends.  It’s Monday and we are ready for the Italian Serie A Calendar today!  Yep.  Lega Serie A will announce the fixtures.   Headlines emphasizing AC Milan’s embarrassing defeat in the United States defeated by Manchester City with an astonishing 5-1. OUCH.. How it hurts!!!!!!  Come on guys, it’s just so painful to keep reporting on this poor Milan still unable to cause a revival but just getting worst!   Here is the thing…. will this Inzaghi’s era continue down the hill or will just rise up as the “Ave Fenix”?

On transfer market, let me tell you, Tutto Sport insist that Inter might sign Manchester United forward Chicharito Hernandez in case of selling midfielder Fredy Guarin to Juventus as there is the possible selling of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal to Manchester.  Curiously that the front pages from La Gazzetta and Corriere have not mentioned it at all.

A headline giving me a headache is about the scandal in Napoli.  Coach Rafael Benitez sacks forward Jose Maria Callejon from the retreat before the morning training session.  Reportedly, Benitez not happy with Callejon not fully committed in training showing lack of motivation. Moreover, midfielder Valon Behrami also leaving…

It’s another blow for AC Milan suffering the second defeat in the International Champions Cup.  AC Milan losing against Manchester City in such a bad way that it pains me to report it.   AC Milan conceded 4 goals in  the first 26 minutes!  I could not believe my eyes at all and believe me I just wanted to transform myself into a footballer to jump to the pitch and play!!!

Apart from actual raining, it appears goals were just pouring.  It is just unbelievable!  Milan had the chance to score first in the 2nd minute with defender Alex following a corner after the headed assist by forward Stephan El Shaarawy.

The nightmare starting in the 11th minute  with the ex Fiorentina forward Stephan Jovetic defeating AC Milan goalkeeper Michael Agazzi after the assist by Jesus Navas from the right wing.  Milan’s defense running out of gas.  Then, the unthinkable, 2 minutes after BAM!  A second goal in the 13th minute by Scott Sinclair getting the assist by Gael Clichy with a cross!  what a chaos!.

The cold shower and very cold shower arriving in the 23rd minute when Jovetic providing the assist for Jesus Navas  score the third goal of the match!   No umbrella to protect Milan from this debacle.  The ball deflected by AC Milan midfielder Andrea Poli….

Say no more….  imagine just 3 minutes after the 3rd goal, there it comes another goal to make it  3-0.   It was a shameful, embarrassing Milan  disappointing the fans in the United States who wanted to see their “used to be top level team,” and today only a shadow.

And where were Milan’s defenders?  Vacationing?  Anyway, in the 32nd minute  forward Stephan El Shaarawy attempt a headed shot on goal only to saved by Mancheser City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.

It seems even the sky was crying out loud because the rain forced the game to be delayed for 20 minutes….  sure,  the heavens were crying unable to watch this poor Milan being so mediocre leaving their winning DNA who knows where!!!!!

Far from AC Milan returning stronger, it is Manchester City to increase the score with Jovetic scoring in the 58th minute.  By now, I was already upset, big time!!!!!   We might argue that  Milan defense is at fault because the technique displayed by Jovetic showed a weak defender Adil Rami as the ball went over before the shot!

Inzaghi tried even forward Mario Balotelli since the 45th minute replacing El Shaarawy. Yet,  Balotelli also failing to score.

The next game is against Liverpool on Sunday 2 August  at the   Bank Of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC.   Who can save this Milan?

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti (ex AC Milan coach) directing a recovery training session on Sunday 27 July 2014 at the UCLA North Athletic Field ahead of the game against AS Roma in the International Champions Cup in Dallas, Texas.  Training with 15 players including  basic warm up exercises,  a variety of drills, which incorporated fitness training with ball work while goalkeepers training separately.   Eight of the players that started against Inter Milan  did not train on the grass: Carvajal, Diego Llorente, Lucas, Pepe, Illarra, Isco, Gareth Bale and Nacho.

The first player to arrive for training was goalkeeper Iker Casillas.   Real Madrid counting now with forward Cristiano Ronaldo who arrived in Los Angeles yesterday Saturday 26.   Cristiano was not part of the game against Inter and followed a light individual training with fitness coach Santi Lozano including  stretching, jogging, running to recover from injury.   Defender Alvaro Arbeloa joined the rest of his teammates. Positive news is that Fabio Coentrao also joined his teammates for training because in the past days he followed individual training to recover from injury.

Here is the situation.  Real Madrid looking to defeat AS Roma after losing against Inter Milan on penalty shoot outs:   Real Madrid 1- 1 Inter Milan on Saturday 26.    However,  Roma also losing their first game, Manchester United 3 – 2 AS Roma.   Simply put, Real Madrid and Roma objective is to win this match.   Surely, a special game for Ancelotti who played for AS Roma from 1979 to 1987 making 171 appearances and scoring 12 goals.    Undoubtedly, Ancelotti is well informed on what’s going with AS Roma including transfer market and game quality.  (Ancelotti’s press conference.)  It’s now up to AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia to prepare the perfect match and claim a victory, or for Ancelotti to conquer the Roman gladiators.
