Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti (ex AC Milan coach) directing a recovery training session on Sunday 27 July 2014 at the UCLA North Athletic Field ahead of the game against AS Roma in the International Champions Cup in Dallas, Texas.  Training with 15 players including  basic warm up exercises,  a variety of drills, which incorporated fitness training with ball work while goalkeepers training separately.   Eight of the players that started against Inter Milan  did not train on the grass: Carvajal, Diego Llorente, Lucas, Pepe, Illarra, Isco, Gareth Bale and Nacho.

The first player to arrive for training was goalkeeper Iker Casillas.   Real Madrid counting now with forward Cristiano Ronaldo who arrived in Los Angeles yesterday Saturday 26.   Cristiano was not part of the game against Inter and followed a light individual training with fitness coach Santi Lozano including  stretching, jogging, running to recover from injury.   Defender Alvaro Arbeloa joined the rest of his teammates. Positive news is that Fabio Coentrao also joined his teammates for training because in the past days he followed individual training to recover from injury.

Here is the situation.  Real Madrid looking to defeat AS Roma after losing against Inter Milan on penalty shoot outs:   Real Madrid 1- 1 Inter Milan on Saturday 26.    However,  Roma also losing their first game, Manchester United 3 – 2 AS Roma.   Simply put, Real Madrid and Roma objective is to win this match.   Surely, a special game for Ancelotti who played for AS Roma from 1979 to 1987 making 171 appearances and scoring 12 goals.    Undoubtedly, Ancelotti is well informed on what’s going with AS Roma including transfer market and game quality.  (Ancelotti’s press conference.)  It’s now up to AS Roma coach Rudi Garcia to prepare the perfect match and claim a victory, or for Ancelotti to conquer the Roman gladiators.
