Hernanes: “No regrets; bright future ahead”

MILAN – Hernanes spoke at a press conference today held at the Expo Gate. He began by talking about the Expo itself, which will take place in the city of Milan in 2015: “It’s a great moment in my career and in my life to be in Milan when this event is taking place. It’s an honour and a source of pride to be at such a prestigious club as Inter and to be in Milan at the same time as the Expo 2015.”

The subject of conversation soon turned to football: “We put in a good performance against Napoli and showed promising signs. Then, the win away at Cesena showed that we’ve found the right path. We’re all pleased and feel confident for the future. The most important thing about that match was to win and get the three points – we don’t need to think about the rest.”

Hernanes also spoke about president Erick Thohir, who has once more demonstrated his faith in the team. “Perhaps there aren’t many Inter fans in the press; they always seem to try and cause problems for us. The reality is that the president has shown his faith in us – in the coach and the team,” explained the Brazilian.

There was also a word on his fitness: “I’ve got myself in great physical shape and that allows me to do what I want on the pitch.”

Hernanes took the opportunity to invite all Nerazzurri fans to have faith in the group; a group the Brazilian believes will achieve great success in the future. “The team has only been together for three months; it will take a bit of time but we are growing as a group. I think we’ve played well and I can’t see any big problems.

“The fans must be patient; it’s been a delicate time for the club. A lot has changed. Let’s not regret the past; we can build a successful future. We need to support the team whilst it’s finding its feet.

“The fans must believe in us, have faith and make an effort. We’re doing all we can to take Inter to the very top. We’ve shown that we could take control of a difficult situation and come through it,” explained Hernanes.

The Nerazzurri’s Brazilian midfielder concluded with a word or two on tomorrow’s opponents at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza: “Sampdoria have started very well – we know they’ll be a tough team to face, but we’re at home and we’ll do everything we can to get the result. Tomorrow will be an important match; we must make the most of the opportunity to take a step in the right direction.”

Inter Campus Israel Palestine begins the new season

MILAN – On the same day Noa – a great supporter of Inter Campus – will hold a concert in Milan, we wanted to bring you news of our latest trip to Israel and Palestine. The famous Israeli singer and writer Noa is directly involved in promoting peace and dialogue between Israel and Palestine, as well as a number of other social issues. A fan of Inter Campus, she recently lent us one of her songs for a video on the project in Israel and Palestine in partnership with the NGO Ghetton. The Inter Campus staff visited every site where the project is running, including two villages in Palestinian territory, the Shefayim Kibbutz in Israel, the Arab-Israeli town of Jaljulia and the outskirts of Tel Aviv. Work is intensifying in these areas with hundreds of children from families in need involved from varying ethnic backgrounds: Israeli, Sudanese, Congolese, Filipino, Tanzanian and Arab. Inter Campus’ work in the region promotes dialogue, integration, sport and having fun. The local coaches had the opportunity to once again meet Alberto Giacomini and Gabriele Raspelli and take part in their course with training and game sessions in every centre. The coaches and those running the project also visited the real hub of the Holy Land, Jerusalem. The foundations have been laid for a project involving children from the Western and Eastern sides of the city, with the aim of spreading passion, dialogue and coexistence to troubled areas. The week of courses and training sessions ended with an event in Jaljulia where the majority of the Inter Campus kids played in a tournament to get the 2014/15 season off to a flying start. ]]>

Inter Academy launched in Saudi Arabia

MILAN – FC Internazionale and Sporti are proud to announce the foundation of Inter Academy in Saudi Arabia. After four of coaches from Sporti attend a month’s training in Milan, Inter Academy will begin work on 15 November in Dammam. The local coaches will be coordinated by one of the Inter academy staff who will be in Dammam for the whole year. Marco Monti, Inter Academy technical director, and a group chosen by the Inter academy staff will visit Saudi Arabia every three months to assess the progress of the project. “I am very happy with this partnership”, said vice president Javier Zanetti. “Our partner shares our values and focus on young players. You can see this above all in the players’ education and their technical coaching with a scientific approach. At Inter Academy Sporti, children in Saudi Arabia can play sport in the right environment, learn respect towards one another and team spirit by being part of a group. This all plays a central role in learning how to play football.” “We chose FC Internazionale’s experience because we share their approach and philosophy and appreciate their moral values in the youth academy which are obviously reflected throughout the club”, said Sporti president Adel Alhowar. “We believe that education from every angle and the top level technical approach Inter has will benefit our children and improve our coaches’ ability which – in the long term – will help the entire football system in our country to develop.” Inter Academy already exists in Japan ( the Yoyogi, Nojima and Saku projects involve more than 300 4-12 year olds) and the United States. In the US, besides the project run by Riccardo Ferri, there is a roving programme in other areas with long-time partner Crossfire. Inter Academy has worked with hundreds of boys and girls over the years thanks to professionals in the Nerazzurri youth system.
