Sassuolo overturned the result and win the Serie A Week 11 game against Hellas Verona on Sunday 23 October 2022 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy. Sassuolo returned to victory after two consecutive defeats. Hellas Verona went down from the 18th to the 19th position remaining in the relegation zone. Dionisi’s team recovered Ceccherini’s initial goal. The match is decided by the goal number four in the league of a motivated Davide Frattesi, good at taking advantage of Traorè’s suggestion inside the penalty area. Verona suffered their sixth consecutive defeat in the league.

Verona have lost their last five league matches, only twice in their history in Serie A have they recorded at least six consecutive defeats: between April and May 2018 (seven) and between January and March 1979 (seven).

Hellas Verona sent a clear message to Sassuolo. Verona opened the score in the 2nd minute. Federico Ceccherini defeated Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli with a right-footed to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Fabio Depaoli.

Sassuolo equalized for the 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Armand Laurienté defeated Hellas Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipò with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Pedro Obiang.

Sassuolo took the lead in the 74th minute for the 2-1. Davide Frattesi scored with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Hamed Traorè.

✅   Stats before the game: Sassuolo have remained unbeaten in six of their last seven Serie A matches against Verona (5W, 1N), however losing the last match (last January 16 for 2-4 at home) – only once have the Scala won two match in a row against the neroverdi in the top league, in their first two matches in the top league in 2013/14. Great balance in the seven matches between Sassuolo and Verona at the MAPEI Stadium in Serie A: three wins on each side and one draw. The two teams have scored as many as 26 goals overall at the Neroverdi in the top flight (3.7 per match average). Sassuolo lost their last home league match (1-2 v Inter), with Alessio Dionisi at the helm, the neroverdi have never recorded two consecutive defeats at the MAPEI Stadium in Serie A – the last time was in October 2019 with Roberto De Zerbi (three in that case).
