Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Atalanta, 2nd position with 24 points and a positive goal difference of +10
Lazio, 5th position with 21 points and a positive goal difference of +16

Atalanta collapsed losing the Serie A Week 11 game against Lazio on Sunday 23 October 2022 at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, Italy.  A sour defeat because Atalanta stepped down from the 2nd to the 4th position.  Three points that bring Lazio to 24, hooking Atalanta in third place. Mattia Zaccagni and Felipe Anderson, one by half, score for the Biancocelesti.  Lazio stopped Atalanta who were unbeaten in nine of their last 10 matches against Lazio in Serie A (4W, 5D): the only Biancoceleste success in the period came on 31 January 2021 (1-3 at Gewiss Stadium).

In the next round, Lazio will host Salernitana, while Atalanta will go to Empoli.

Lazio surprised Atalanta and opened the score in the 10th minute. Mattia Zaccagni defeated goalkeeper Juan Musso with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Pedro.

Atalanta unable to react. Lazio increased the score in the 52nd minute. Felipe Anderson with a right-footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Adam Marusic.

Stats before the game:  Atalanta and Lazio drew both matches from last season, the last time they recorded three straight draws in Serie A dating back to the period between 1998 and 2001. Great balance in the last 11 games between Atalanta and Lazio at the Dea’s home in Serie A: four wins on each side and three draws – biancocelesti unbeaten in the two most recent, have not recorded a longer streak since 2007 (six on that occasion). Lazio are the team that has scored the most goals against Atalanta in Gasperini’s management in Serie A: 22 Biancocelesti goals in 12 matches. Lazio have kept a clean sheet in their last five league matches, only once in their history in Serie A have they recorded at least six clean sheets in a row: seven between February and March 1998 with Sven-Göran Eriksson at the helm.
