Inter Milan secured a place in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 knockout stage after beating Argentina’s River Plate on Wednesday 25 June 2025, at Lumen Field in Seattle.  The Nerazzurri win 2-0 with goals from Francesco Pio Esposito and Alessandro Bastoni, thus earning first place in the group E.   That’s it, forza Inter!

Having finished as the runner-up in the UEFA Champions League 2024-25, Inter began its Club World Cup journey with a 1-1 draw against Monterrey, followed by a victory over Urawa Red Diamonds. Meanwhile, River Plate currently leads Group E based on goal difference. They come into this match after a draw with Monterrey last Saturday, extending their unbeaten run to three matches.
