Inter President Steven Zhang was delighted with the Club winning the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Final on Wednesday 11 May 2022 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. Result: Juventus 2 – 4 Inter.

Zhang lived a similar moment last year when Inter won the  19th Scudetto and the Super Cup triumph in January.  Zhang collected three Trophies during his presidency.

“I have the honour of sharing this journey with the team, the staff and everyone who works behind the scenes on a daily basis,” the president commented in the wake of the 4-2 victory at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I want to thank all the people who help us on our journey every day and our fans who support us from every corner of the world.”

Zhang was quick to stress that the season is not over yet as Simone Inzaghi’s side still have two more league games to play.

“This trophy is another piece of Inter’s history but our season doesn’t finish here. We must keep fighting to till the very last minute.

“We’ve worked hard over the last six years to make this team competitive again and our aim is the same one we had six years ago – we want the team to be challenging for honours every season and keep adding to our trophy cabinet. This win today is further confirmation that we’re on the right path, both on and off the pitch.”

Inter Coach Simone Inzaghi is the happiest man witnessing his team accomplishing an important victory winning the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Final on Wednesday 11 May 2022 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Result: Juventus 2 – 4 Inter

Inzaghi spoke to Sportmediaset about his side’s performance:

What do you make of the win tonight?
“We put in a great performance against a strong opponent. We did really well in the first half an hour, but we lost our shape a little in the final 15 minutes before half time. Our approach to the second half was poor and we let in two goals. We should have remained more focused, but this team never gives up, as I know. It’s not just this evening, but since 8 July, that I’ve seen them do that. Now we have two league games to play as best we possibly can, but it’s right that we enjoy the celebrations tonight with the fans. I’m happy for the lads, the club and the fans.”

Is it a special feeling?
“It makes me happy to share this victory with the staff who help me every day to prepare for three games each week. We’ve gone far in everything we’ve done. We made it to the Round of 16 in the Champions League and I think Inter have been the only team to beat Liverpool so far. We have given so much and have no regrets.”

You made a poor start to the second half, but the response was incredible… 
“The players did well. To analyse it, I need to rewatch the game. We shouldn’t have let in those two goals. The second one was on the counter-attack, but I don’t think I can ask for anything more. The substitutes also did really well when they came on, so it’s right that we celebrate winning this trophy together.”
