🏆🇮🇹👉 Inter won the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Final defeating Juventus on Wednesday 11 May 2022 at the Olimpico di Roma stadium in Rome, Italy.  The big Derby d’Italia is all for Inter claiming the bragging rights and winning the prestigious Trophy. Inter won their Eighth Coppa Italia after a fast that lasted since 2011 while Juventus lost the second final of the season, after the Italian Super Cup, against Inter. It’s a FLOP for Juve to end the season without trophies. Congratulations Inter. This is the third match between Juventus and Inter in a Coppa Italia final, both previous ones having been won by Juventus (4-1 in 1959 and 1-0 in 1965).  Inter breaking the tabu!

Juventus failed to become the fifth team of the big five European leagues capable of winning the main national cup 15 times, after Barcelona (31 Copa del Rey), Athletic Club (23 Copa del Rey), Bayern Munich (20 DFB Pokal) and Real Madrid (19 Copa del Rey).

Inter opened the score with a fast goal in the 5th minute. Nicolò Barella defeated Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Marcelo Brozovic following a corner conceded by Denis Zakaria.

Incredible, Inter are being surprised by Juventus overturning the result. In the 52nd minute, Juventus scored for the 2-1. Forward Dušan Vlahović delighted the fans with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Referee Valeri gave a penalty to Inter conceded by Leonardo Bonucci. Hakan Çalhanoğlu equalized for the 2-2 in the 79th minute converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the top right corner.

Another penalty for Inter. In the 98th minute, Ivan Perišić converted a penalty with a right-footed shot to the top left corner. The penalty conceded by Matthijs de Ligt.

Party time for Inter. In the 101st minute, it is again Ivan Perišić to score this time with a left-footed shot from to the top right corner. The assist is by Federico Dimarco.

Stats before the game. The match between Juventus and Inter is the challenge seen several times in the Italian Cup, 33 before these finals: Juventus 15 wins, Inter 10 wins, and 8 draws. Five of the last 10 matches between the two teams in the competition ended in a draw (two Piedmont and three Lombard victories complete). Inter have won each of the last two official matches against Juventus, as many successes as in the previous 13 (4N, 7P): since the birth of the single-group Serie A (from 1929/30),  Inter have never won three games of row against Juventus in all competitions and more generally only Fiorentina in 1940/41 and Lazio in 1942/43 have achieved three wins against the Piedmontese in the course of a single season. Juventus is the team that has reached the final of the Italian Cup several times (21, including this one) and in general has won the competition several times (14); including 2021/22, Juventus have reached the final seven times in the last eight seasons (the only exception being 2018/2019) and in five of these they have raised the trophy.

🏆🇮🇹👉 Lineup JUVENTUS (4-2-3-1): Perin; Danilo, De Ligt, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Zakaria, Rabiot; Cuadrado, Dybala, Bernardeschi; Vlahovic.

🏆🇮🇹👉 Lineup INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, D’Ambrosio; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Lautaro Martinez, Dzeko
