Italy Head Coach Antonio Conte has called up 27 players for the Italian National team friendly game against Netherlands on September 4 and the EURO 2016 Qualification game against Norway on September 9, 2014.

Players will meet at the Technical Center of Coverciano on Sunday 31 August by midnight.   Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu and midfielder Verratti will arrive until Monday because they are playing with PSG while Mattia Destro will join the team until Tuesday for personal reasons.

First training is scheduled on Monday 1 September at 10:30 a.m.  The Italian team will depart on Wednesday 3 September to Bari for the friendly game against Netherlands.  The team will return to Coverciano on Friday 5 September.   Italy coach Antonio Conte and the team will depart to Oslo on Monday 8 September for the UEA Euro 2016 Qualification game against Norway.

Getting to know our players in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It’s time to meet Defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Leonardo Bonucci was born in Viterbo, Italy on 1st May 1987. He spent his youth with Inter and made his Serie A debut in 2006. After spells with Treviso, Pisa and Bari, he moved to Juventus in July 2010 and has since won three consecutive Serie A titles (2011/2012, 2012/2013, 2013/2014).

Bonucci made his debut for Italy on 3rd March 2010 in Montecarlo, during a friendly against Cameroon, and scored his first goal in the following match against Mexico in Brussels.

He was part of Marcello Lippi’s squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. He was also part of Cesare Prandelli’s squad for UEFA Euro 2012 in Poland-Ukraine and for the 2013 Confederations Cup.
