Montella’s Viola lost their second Copa EuroAmericana game against Palmeiras at São Paulo’s Estadio do Pacaembu on Wednesday night, despite producing a good overall performance.

The host side established a two-goal lead in the first period, Olivera and Leandro on target.

After the break Giuseppe Rossi made his long-awaited entrance and it took him just 10 minutes to get back into his old habits. The Italy forward raced on to Babacar’s smart through ball before finishing with aplomb.

It ended 2-1, which levels things up perfectly in the overall count for the tournament: South America 4-4 Europe. It all comes down to the last game: the Copa EuroAmericana will be decided when Fiorentina take on Peruvian outfit Universitario at the Estadio Nacional in Lima on Saturday.

Good morning my friends.  How are you?  I am just happy because AS Roma defeated Real Madrid yesterday in the International Champions Cup, wohoooooOO!!!   I am also super mega happy because the father of Juventus forward Carlos Tevez was freed after being kidnapped for 8 hours in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Headlines reporting the ransom was for 36 thousands Euros.   Tevez will not play in the friendly game today against Cesena.

And here we go again with the on going Tutto Sport saga on Javier Hernandez “Chicharito.”  It is curious that in the past two days only Tutto Sport mention the interest of Inter to sign Chicharito, but neither the front pages from La Gazzetta dello Sport not Corriere dello Sport had mentioned it.  The point is that according to Tutto Sport, Inter need to sell midfielder Fredy Guarrin to buy Hernandez.  However, headlines also indicating that striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo is closer to sign for Inter.

2014/15 Serie A starts with Roma v Fiorentina, then Genoa at home

The fixture list for the 2014/15 Serie A has been released and Fiorentina have been handed a tricky opening game: Vincenzo Montella’s Viola will travel to the Stadio Olimpico to face Rudi Garcia’s Roma on the weekend of 30/31 August.

The Viola faithful will get their first chance to see the lads in action at the Franchi the following weekend, with Genoa the visitors.

Another big match awaits on 7 December, when Juve will travel to Florence.

After the draw, Vincenzo Montella had the following to say:

“Starting off with Roma is a tough one all right, but it will be an extra incentive for us. We also have a very testing run of matches against Inter, Lazio and AC Milan, but as always you only see how difficult a game really is once you play it.”

Coppa Italia 2014/15: Roma, Juve, Parma possible opponents

The draw for the 2014/15 Coppa Italia has also been made recently, meaning that Fiorentina now know which teams they may have to face in the latter stages of the competition.

Along with the other seven top seeds, last season’s runners-up will enter the competition at the last-16 stage, where their most likely opponents are Atalanta.

Should Montella’s charges go through to the quarter-finals, they could find Roma waiting in their path. The other two seeded teams in the bottom half of the draw are Parma and Juventus, either of which may provide the opposition in a potential semi-final.

Good morning my friends.  It’s Monday and we are ready for the Italian Serie A Calendar today!  Yep.  Lega Serie A will announce the fixtures.   Headlines emphasizing AC Milan’s embarrassing defeat in the United States defeated by Manchester City with an astonishing 5-1. OUCH.. How it hurts!!!!!!  Come on guys, it’s just so painful to keep reporting on this poor Milan still unable to cause a revival but just getting worst!   Here is the thing…. will this Inzaghi’s era continue down the hill or will just rise up as the “Ave Fenix”?

On transfer market, let me tell you, Tutto Sport insist that Inter might sign Manchester United forward Chicharito Hernandez in case of selling midfielder Fredy Guarin to Juventus as there is the possible selling of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal to Manchester.  Curiously that the front pages from La Gazzetta and Corriere have not mentioned it at all.

A headline giving me a headache is about the scandal in Napoli.  Coach Rafael Benitez sacks forward Jose Maria Callejon from the retreat before the morning training session.  Reportedly, Benitez not happy with Callejon not fully committed in training showing lack of motivation. Moreover, midfielder Valon Behrami also leaving…
