By Anna Italia

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A ROUNDUP for
the
Serie A Week 33, 2013 – 2014 Season on Saturday 12, Sunday 13, and Monday 14
April
2014, matchday 33.   Countdown my friends!  5 more games after this
Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end on May 18!

The top 3 positions are not changing this week despite the results.
Juventus will continue in the 1st place after defeating Udinese thanks to the goals by forward Sebastian Giovinco and Fernando Llorente.  AS Roma keeping the second position after defeating Atalanta at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.  Roma reaching 79 points.   Napoli  keeping the third position despite their result. .
The gap between Juve with 87 points and Roma are of +8 points advantage for Juventus.
The gap between Napoli in the 3rd position with Fiorentina in the 4th
position are of +12 points for Fiorentina.

Catania coach Maurizio Pellegrino making his debut with the team against AC Milan. Catania battled with 10 players since the 78th minute when Referee De Marco gave a red card to defender Andres Rinaudo.   Coach Rolando Maran was replaced by coach Pellegrino.  Catania are risking relegation to Serie B if they continue to lose games being in the 20th position with only 20 points.  AC Milan climbed to the 8th position having now 48 points and being just -3 points behind the European Zone.  Parma holding the 6th position with 51 points.

Cagliari coach Ivo Pulga re-debuts with Cagliari with a draw against Sassuolo.  Pulga replaced former coach Diego Lopez who was sacked last week after losing against AS Roma.

A nightmare at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium!  Inter humiliating Sampdoria with a poker! Yep, 4 goals against 0.  The  battle also on the sentimental field.  The Argentinian players Sampdoria forward Maxi Lopez and Inter forward Mauro Icardi.  Lopez not even shaking hands with Icardi before the match.  Icardi is going out with Wanda Nara who is the ex wife of Maxi Lopez.

Hello my friends.  Here is the Serie A PREVIEW for
the
Serie A Week 33, 2013 – 2014 Season on Saturday 12, Sunday 13, and Monday 14
April
2014, matchday 33.   Countdown my friends!  5 more games after this
Round and the 2013 – 2014 Serie A will end on May 18!

The top 3 positions will not changing this week despite the results.
Juventus will continue in the 1st place with 84 points whether they win, draw, or lose.  AS Roma in the
2nd place with 76 points and Napoli in the 3rd place with 64 points.
The gap between Juve and Roma are of +8 points advantage for Juventus.
The gap between Napoli in the 3rd position with Fiorentina in the 4th
position are of +12 points for Fiorentina.    Juventus living a great moment because they also qualified to the Europa League Semifinals!!!!

This week we have a debut for 2 Serie A Coaches.  Yep!  Last week 2 coaches sacked and the situation for salvation is desperate.
Catania sacking coach Rolando Maran after losing the Serie A Week 32 home game against
Torino, Catania 1 – 2 Torino.  It’s also a black crisis for Catania because they remain in the last
position with only 20 points and practically ready for relegation in
Serie B.  Mara wass replaced by coach Maurizio Pellegrino who will debut against AC Milan at the San Siro Stadium.

Another sacking is Cagliari coach Diego Lopez.  Cagliari losing the Serie A Week 32 home game at the Sant’Elia Stadium against AS Roma. Cagliari 1 – 3 AS Roma
Coach Ivo Pulga wass replacing Diego Lopez.  Problem for Cagliari with
only 32 points being 7 points above the relegation zone.  Cagliari will play this week the away game against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

Conte: “All still to play for”

Juventus boss Antonio Conte has urged his men not to let their standards slip as the Scudetto race enters its final six games.

The Bianconeri put further daylight between themselves and Roma
with tonight’s 2-0 win over Livorno, a success that restored their
eight-point advantage at the top of Serie A.

But with such a strong Giallorossi side on their tails, the manager
believes nothing can be taken for granted and has called for strength
until the very end if Juve are to reach their targets both domestically
and in Europe.

Speaking to the media after tonight’s win at Juventus Stadium, the
44-year-old began: “It’s absolutely not over yet. It’s a compelling race
between two teams that are beating records. There are six games left
and it’s all to play for: we’ll need to be on our game to produce more
of the same.”

Moving on to address today’s performance, his overall verdict was
positive, although there was one aspect he flagged up for improvement
next time.

“In the first half we allowed Livorno a few counter-attacks. We
attacked with seven players, and although on the one hand it’s nice to
see a team that wants to go forward, on the other you need to maintain
the right balance because conceding at this stage of the season can put
you off track.

“In the second half, though, we controlled things well and didn’t give them a sniff.”

Juve were once again faced with the task of breaking down a
defensive set-up tonight, and Conte went on to explain the tactical
approach required to counteract it.

“We’re used to playing against teams who sit back, and in that
situation you need to move the ball quickly, as well as being patient
and attentive. We needed to be good at pulling them out of position and
we managed to do so.”

To finish, an appeal to the fans who were as devoted as ever
tonight to show the same support again when the Bianconeri host Lyon on
Thursday.

“We want to reach the semi-final: It would be nice for an Italian
team to return to those levels, but it won’t be easy. Lyon beat
Valenciennes and have good counter-attacking players.

“I hope to see the stadium full and the fans getting behind the lads. We need them during this home straight.”
