Bologna Coach Siniša Mihajlović honored on Wednesday 17 November 2021. The ceremony conferring honorary citizenship of Bologna on Mihajlović took place at the Palazzo D’Accursio. President of the City Council Maria Caterina Manca and Mayor Matteo Lepore officially got proceedings underway in the presence of Mihajlovic’s wife Arianna, his friend Gianni Morandi and President of Emilia Romagna Stefano Bonaccini.
During his speech, Mihajlovic thanked the city and the local health service for the help he was given after being diagnosed with leukaemia in 2019. He dedicated his honorary citizenship to “the whole of Bologna, whether sports lovers or not, fans of Bologna and those who are not. I really felt their support at that time, to the extent that I always found the energy to face the extremely challenging days that I had to get through.”
