Italian Soccer Serie A supports Serie A teams in the UEFA Champions League

Hats Off Atalanta, magical Dea!

Atalanta returning on Thursday 13 August to Bergamo after their historical participation in the UEFA Champions League Quarterfinals against Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday 12 August in Portugal.   Atalanta qualified for the 2019–20 UEFA Champions League after reaching the competition for the first time in their history because they ended in the 3rd position in the 2018–19 Serie A season. Allow me to stand up and applaud the entire Atalanta Club including staff, players, and fans.

In Bergamo 113-year history, there was none “0” participation of their local soccer team “Atalanta” playing in the prestigious UEFA Champions League. You bet, the arrival of Coach Gian Piero Gasperini added a punch lifting the morale of the so-called provincial team to dream big.   And you bet, they dreamed big!  A dream shared by all of us embracing Atalanta in their Champions League adventure.

The bad news was that they ended the 2019-2020 adventure in the Quarterfinals. The good news is that Atalanta qualified for the next 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League!  The dream continues… and we all embrace the team and push Atalanta’s bandwagon to make it to the top. Forza Atalanta and thanks for giving us so much joy. Hats off!!!!
