AS Roma Legends face Boston Braves in Trigoria

After Sunday’s charity match against Liberi Nantes, Roma Legends were back in action today as they faced Boston Braves at the Centro Sportivo Fulvio Bernardini.

The American outfit is an association that organizes international friendly matches between veteran football teams made up of past champions from the best clubs in the world. Founded in 2001, over the years Boston Braves have faced teams made up of former players from many top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Boca Juniors, River Plate, Ajax, Juventus and Anderlecht.

Captaining Roma Legends on the Agostino di Bartolomei pitch in Trigoria today was Giuseppe Giannini, with the likes of Odoacre Chierico, Francesco Desideri, Fabrizio Romondini, Massimo Marazzina and Alessio Scarchilli also donning the Giallorossi colors one more time. The match itself finished 4-0 in favor of Roma, with Marazzina bagging all four goals.

Before kick-off, Boston Braves paid tribute to Roma captain Francesco Totti by presenting him with a commemorative plaque. Giallorossi CEO Italo Zanzi and youth academy director Bruno Conti were also honored.
