International watch: Wins for Florenzi, Džeko, Pjanic and Radja

It was a happy night for the Giallorossi stars involved in Euro 2016 qualifying matches last night as Alessandro Florenzi’s Italy, Edin Džeko and Miralem Pjanic’s Bosnia and Herzegovina and Radja Nainggolan’s Belgium all picked up wins.

The first to take to the field was Florenzi, who came on in the latter stages of Italy’s 3-1 win over Azerbaijan in Baku. The victory meant the Azzurri sealed qualification for the finals in France.

Joining Alessandro at Euro 2016 will be Radja Nainggolan, whose Belgium side beat Andorra 4-1 away to book their own spot in France. The Roma midfielder scored an impressive long-range strike to open the scoring.

Also enjoying that winning feeling were Edin Džeko and Miralem Pjanic as Bosnia and Herzegovina beat Wales 2-0 in Zilina to keep their hopes of securing a play-off berth alive. Pjanic played all 90 minutes and put in a sterling performance, while Džeko was kept in reserve on the bench.

There is more international action for the Giallorossi family tonight as Vasilis Torosidis’ Greece and Wojciech Szczesny’s Poland take on Hungary and the Republic of Ireland respectively in Euro 2016 qualifying. Lucas Digne’s France and Mohamed Salah’s Egypt are in friendly action against Denmark and Zambia respectively.
