Digne and Salah involved, Torosidis and Szczesny on the bench

Sunday’s international football action saw four Giallorossi players involved around the world: Lucas Digne and Mohamed Salah both started friendlies for France and Egypt, while Vasilis Torosidis and Wojciech Szczesny were kept in reserve on the bench as Greece and Poland brought their Euro 2016 qualifying campaigns to a close.

Lucas Digne played all 90 minutes of France’s 2-1 friendly win away in Denmark, putting in an impressive performance. Also involved in friendly action was Mohamed Salah, whose Egypt side beat Zambia 3-0 in Dubai. Substituted in the 82nd minute, the winger received a standing ovation from the fans inside the stadium.

Vasilis Torosidis was an unused substitute as Greece picked up their first win of a tough Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, beating Hungary by four goals to three. It was a happier night for Poland, who beat the Republic of Ireland 2-1 in Warsaw to qualify for the finals in France with Wojciech Szczesny watching on from the bench.

Norbert Gyomber is the only Giallorossi player involved in international action today, as Slovakia look to secure Euro 2016 qualification away in Luxembourg.
