Spezia win the Coppa Italia Round of 16 game defeating AS Roma on Tuesday 19 January 2021 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy.  It is a prestigious victory for Spezia, promoted from the Serie B  this season, to claim this away victory humiliating the Roman gladiators.  Spezia will play the Coppa Italia Quarterfinal against Napoli.  Roma ended the match playing with 9 players since the 92nd minute.   Simply put, what a failure for Roma and a deserved win for Spezia.

It is Spezia to surprise Roma opening the score in the 6th minute. Referee Davide Ghersini giving a penalty to Spezia conceded by Bryan Cristante after a foul on Giulio Maggiore. It is Andrej Galabinov to convert the penalty with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

A super motivated Spezia increasing the score in the 15th minute for the 0-2. It is Riccardo Saponara to deliver a right footed shot defeating AS Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez in the top right corner. The assist is by Andrej Galabinov.

Roma shortening the distance for the 1-2 in the 43rd minute. It is Lorenzo Pellegrini to convert a penalty defeating Spezia goalkeeper Krapikas with a right footed shot in the center. The penalty is conceded by Ardian Ismajli after a foul on Pellegrini.

Roma equalizing for the 2-2 in the 73rd minute with the goal by Henrikh Mkhitaryan with a left footed shot in the top right corner. The assist is by Borja Mayoral.

Roma in deep trouble remaining with 10 players after goalkeeper Pau Lopez was sent off in the 92nd minute and previously Gianluca Mancini in the 91st minute after a second yellow card

Spezia taking the lead again in the 107th minute.
