AS Roma are pleased to announce Norbert Gyomber has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Catania Calcio. The agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent.
The Slovakian defender has spent the last two seasons in Sicily, making 18 appearances and scoring once in his first season in Serie A, before playing a further eight times in Serie B last term.
Gyomber began his career at his home-town club Revuca, before joining the academy at Dukla Banská Bystrica. He spent two seasons in the first team there before his move to Italy.
The center-back recently started for the Slovakian senior national team in their 2-1 win over Spain in a Euro 2016 qualifier. In total, he now has seven international caps.
After completing his loan move to Roma, Gyomber told the club’s official website: “Roma are without doubt one of the world’s biggest clubs and I’m happy to be here.”
