WE RESPECT MILAN

(IN THE PHOTO: Diego Simeone during the press conference)MILANO – Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone had this to say in the pre-match press conference ahead of Milan-Atletico on Wednesday at the San Siro at 20.45:"History speaks clearly, Milan are a great side, but Atletico Madrid also have history in this competition. However, tomorrow the players will make the difference, not the clubs. I’m not imagining any result, but I foresee an open match which Milan are very good at. Both sides have the characteristics that will make it an exciting match. The first leg is important in order to do well in the second leg. I’m expecting a Milan team on form. They’ve got good wingers and attacking players that have to be respected. They’re strong on the counter-attack and we will need to be attentive in defence. We will have to be at our best to contain them. I spent two years in the city of Milan and I’ve got great memories. It will be a great match for my players. I hope I’m able to pass all of this onto my players.”   Atletico Madrid’s Gabi was also taking part in the press conference alongside his coach and had this to say: "The favourites are decided out on the pitch. Milan have great players. We respect Milan, but I also see a great desire in my players. Tomorrow we want to play a great match. The Serie A league is very competitive and where they fight until the very end.”At the end of the press conference, Atletico Madrid trained at the San Siro stadium ahead of Wednesday’s match with Milan.
