SEEDORF POISED FOR RUN-IN

MILAN - Clarence Seedorf started his press confidence by calling on the fans to get behind the team in the run-in to the end of the season.
He said: "The fans are intelligent and they must fire push the team even more psychologically. We cannot think of slowing down and instead want to increase our momentum. "
We have two home games ahead of us starting tomorrow against Catania. From the matches I have seen them play they are a side that never gives up during the match and they always try to stay in the game. The table doesn’t tell the full story, but what counts is pride and desire and Catania have shown that.
"We have to show our consistency right through to the end of the season. I am confident because we can look at our own objectives and what we can do because our motivation has always been higher than our opponents from what I have seen. The team are in good shape and they have been training well.
"The training session have been very intense so I have kept them a little shorter than normal. Also it has been quite hot lately and we have not had a lot of time between matches. What I have seen from the players gives me a lot of optimism in the way they are approaching everything in the run-in to the end of the season."
As for the team selection for this weekend, Seedorf added: I am thinking of Andrea Poli and Walter Birsa to replace Honda, but there is also Robinho. Things will become clearer after today’s session. The minimum that Milan have always aimed for has been to take part in the big competitions and to play for the Cups wherever possible."
Stephan El Shaarawy is back in training and has been called up to Cesare Prandelli's pre-World Cup squad. However, the striker will get a run-out with the youth side this weekend. Seedorf said: "I am pleased for him but he has been sidelined and he is not ready to play a full game yet. We will not play 45 minutes for the youth team tomorrow.
"Things are coming together. Mexes is a real leader, Bonera is making the defence solid, Robinho was not fit when I arrived but he has shown real desire and he is one who runs the most. He has certainly been one of the most positive in training and I think his moment will come. Emanuelson and Constant were midfielders but they are working on their roles and now they are attacking and defending.
"Honda is recovering from a twisted ankle but this game comes too soon for him but we will be ready soon. He has improved his fitness since arriving. As for the Champions League, I have to congratulate Atletico Madrid and the semi-finals are going to be spectacular."
