MILAN – The Winter Olympics get under way this Friday in Sochi, Russia on the Black Sea.While wishing all the best to the Italian athletes taking part in the games, here’s a reminder of why Sochi holds such fond memories for the club:Due to the pitch in Moscow being unplayable at the time, Milan played their first leg of their Cup Winners Cup quarter final on 7 March 1973 in Sochi beating Spartak Moscow 0-1 thanks to a goal from Romeo Benetti.Milan went on to win the competition.
