AC MILAN HISTORY, HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE DAY

 

MILANO – On January 27th 1945, Milan were not on the pitch. The first game the Rossoneri played after the Holocaust Remembrance Day dates back to February 4th, 1945, eight days later, in the Torneo bellico Benefico Lombardo. The game was at Gallaratese and Milan won 0-1.

On this special day, Milan celebrate, along with the million Holocaust victims, also two due persons who belonged to their history:

Hungarian coach Bela Guttmann, who directed the Rossoneri from November 11th to February 14th, 1955. He left Milan top of the standings and close to the clinch of their 5th Serie A title.

Ferdinando Valletti, who played at Milan from 1941 to 1944, taking the pitch only in friendly games.
