Getting to know our players in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It’s time to meet forward Antonio Cassano.

Antonio Cassano was born in Bari on 12th July 1982. He spent his youth in his hometown with A.S. Bari where he made his debut in the Serie A. A.S. Roma signed him in 2001.  Cassano  stayed there for four and a half years. After a spell with Real Madrid in Spain, Cassano he returned to Italy in 2007 and joined Sampdoria where he stayed at for three and a half years. AC Milan signed him in 2010-2011 during the winter transfer window before moving to Inter and then eventually signing for Parma in 2013.

He has represented Italy at every youth level. He made his first appearance for the Italian National Team on 12th November 2003 in a friendly against Poland (L 3-1). Cassano then went onto play a role in the European Championships in 2004, 2008 and 2012. Prandelli selected Cassano in the 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
