ITALIAN FOOTBALL REPORT: HIGHS AND LOWS

MILAN - The presentation of the 2014 Football Report by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), which offers a comprehensive review of the Italian game, took place yesterday at Rome.Of its findings, it was revealed that the economic value of the professional game in Italy continues to grow. In the 2012/2013 season this was worth 2696 million (+1.3%), with the two main revenue streams coming from TV rights (38%, +4.6%) and capital gains (20% which is more or less unchanged from the 2011/2012 season).However, the negative trend continued with income generated from stadiums (-4.1%) because of a fall in spectator numbers (-6.4%).
