AC Milan 1 – 0 Inter
62′ Philippe Mexes
A special Milan Derby not played in Italy, but in China! Yep, it’s the challenge for AC Milan new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic facing his friend Inter Coach Roberto Mancini at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, China. The Derby della Madonnina is all Red and Black won by the Rossoneri.
The Milan Derby delighting Chinese fans watching their favorite players. It’s AC Milan to open the score with a super mega goal in the 62nd minute! Yep, the goal arriving following a corner conceded by Inter defender Marco Andreolli. There we see the assist by Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura to defender Philippe Mexes delivering a powerful right footed shot “Samurai Style” from the distance to smack Inter goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo not giving him enough time to even move while the ball goes to the top left corner.
Although it is a friendly “Derby della Madonnina – Milan Derby,” it’s a good test and passing with high grade. Mihajlovic got to test players including the new ones to have a better idea on his ideal team for the 2015 – 2016 Serie A kickoff. In the second half, Mihajlovic made the following changes; out went Poli, De Jong, Bertolacci, Honda, Ely and Alex and in came Mexes, Zapata, Montolivo, Nocerino, Bonaventura and José Mauri.
The awaited moment for new AC Milan players Carlos Bacca and Luiz Adriano arriving in the 60th minute when they replaced Niang and Alessandro Matri.
Sour note ending with the “red card” given to AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino in the 88th minute. Inter unable to react and the final victory to claim the bragging rights to rule the City of Milan.
