CHRISTIAN ABBIATI A GREAT, SAYS KALAC

MILANELLO – Former Rossoneri shot-stopper Zeljko Kalac was at Milanello earlier today. During his visit, the Australian also took the time to speak to the Milan Channel, offering his thoughts on the past and the future in between the sticks:

“It’s always nice to come back to Milanello, especially after such a long time. It’s always a pleasure. I know a lot of the staff and Abbiati and Abate are still here from the playing side. Abbiati has had an incredible career and it’s only right that he ended it here. He achieved some immense things here. Donnarumma is extraordinary and he has a future at the highest levels ahead of him. He’s enjoyed a good season and he now has to keep it going. They sometimes say that a tall goalie struggles to get to ground for the low saves, but that’s not always the case. Dida was really fast and that was vital. I was also quick and Donnarumma certainly has a bright future ahead of him. This team is of a really high level in attack and it’s nice to see it try and play in an offensive manner. I think Juventus are a top team, but if the players attack the way the coach wants then they can make life hard for them. It’s great to see Brocchi in charge. These new coaches want to try and carry out their ideas. He favours an attacking approach and I hope the team can win on Saturday.”
