The big test, the Derby of Europe ended with a goalless draw.  AC Milan challenged Real Madrid in the Athletes Versus Cup Real on Sunday 8 August 2021 at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt.  The test, despite the absence of goals, is a positive result.  AC Milan will play another friendly game next Saturday against Panathinaikos in Trieste.  AC Milan will start the 2021-22 Serie A Season on Monday 23 August against Sampdoria at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

Good start for new AC Milan goalkeeper Maignan saving a penalty in the 41st minute.   Maignan saved Gareth Bale’s left footed penalty shot in the bottom left corner.  The penalty is conceded by Davide Calabria after a foul on Bale.
