However, this Sunday will be different for Allegri and will evoke all kinds of emotions because Sassuolo was the club with which he developed and made his reputation as a coach.Sassuolo and its owner Giorgio Squinzi are held in high regard by Milan’s coach who speaks fondly about his time with the club.In the 2007-2008 season, Allegri took Sassuolo from the Serie C1 to promotion in Serie B for the first time in the club’s history. The side finished first in Group A of the Serie C1 that season. If that wasn’t enough, Allegri also led them to the Serie C1 Supercup by beating Salernitana on penalties.In November 2008, Allegri was awarded the Lega Pro First Division coach of the year after his efforts in charge of Sassuolo.
