AHEAD OF SAMPDORIA-MILAN, MIHAJLOVIC: “Milan didn’t deserve to lose in the Champions League”

MILAN – Here’s some of what Sinisa Mihajlovic had to say in pre-match press conference in Genoa this morning:
“Max trained yesterday but he’s still feeling pain. We’ll see how it goes today but I doubt he’ll start the match and maybe he won’t even be on the bench. The important thing is to have him back but if he’s not well, there’s no point in putting him on the bench. With the suspensions we have, I trained with some players during the week that have given me guarantees in the past. Sometimes it’s useful to get angry and I hope the team learned the lesson. We’ll see tomorrow. I was angry at the performance in Rome, the team were not focused and lacked conviction. You have to keep tension levels high and we have to get back on the right track against Milan. If the team performs, the results will come. I think Eder will play up front, he has the characteristics to cause them problems. Milan are an attacking side and they play with the same formation as us and press high like we do. I think it’ll be a good game and at the same time a tough one. They didn’t deserve to lose against Atletico in the Champions League”.
